Justified by Faith

 

 

Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.-------Galatians 2:16, 21

 

 

I have heard many times, at many funerals, this statement:  “If anyone is in Heaven, they are.  They were such a good person, they were always helping people and never doing anything wrong.”  Well, there are a lot of ‘GOOD’ people in Hell, today, because the Bible clearly tells us that we are saved by the shedding of the precious blood of the ONLY sacrifice of God’s ONLY Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and if that person, no matter how ‘good’ they were or how many ‘good’ things they did, if they had NOT given their HEART and LIFE to Christ and accepted His sacrifice for their sins, then they are NOT in Heaven.

 

The Apostle Paul has said, “That it is by GRACE that you have been saved through FAITH.  And this is not your OWN doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8, 9)     

Therefore, we know that we are NOT justified by the works of the law or by trying to keep ALL of the law, but through FAITH in Jesus Christ, and in order to be justified we MUST be justified by our FAITH in Christ, NOT by the works of the law or keeping the law. 

 

If it were possible to be justified by the works of the law, then our justification would be by OUR OWN work and Paul says that it is, “not a result of works,” but it is the gift of God.  The law cannot save mankind.  It was not given as a means of obtaining SALVATION, but a guide for mankind to live by. 

 

I once asked a man this question:  “What do you think it takes for a person to get to Heaven?”  And he said, “Keeping the Ten Commandments.”  WRONG!!  That will get you a one way ticket straight to Hell, if you have NOT CONFESSED your sins to God and given your HEART and LIFE to Jesus Christ.  THE ONLY WAY is through our FAITH in what CHRIST did on the cross for our sins, and NOT what we have done to try and merit God’s grace.

 

If we are justified by TRYING to keep the law, then WHY would Jesus Christ suffer, bleed and die on an old wooden rugged cross and suffer the torment and humiliation, and why would He be willing to take on ALL the sins of mankind, past, present, and future, He who knew NO sin, became sin, in order to JUSTIFY US.  NOT what we have done or ever will do, but ONLY what He has done for our JUSTIFICATION.

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, and are just trying to live a ‘good’ life, you are gambling with your destiny.  You MUST come by way of the cross, to be able to spend eternity in Heaven. There is NO other way to come to Father God, but through the SHED BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST.  You do that by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and be JUSTIFIED and have the ASSURANCE of Heaven.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
