“Your Spiritual Clothes Closet!”

 

 

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these:  anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.          Colossians 3:8

 

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.         Colossians 3:12

 

There is an old saying:  “Clothes makes the man!”  So let us take inventory of our Spiritual clothes closets and see what kind of a person we are by the clothes we wear.   Verse eight tells us what our closets looked like before we gave our HEART and LIFE to Christ.  We wore garments of anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language.   The Apostle Paul tells us that we NEED to clean out our SPIRITUAL CLOSETS, and get RID of those things that we don’t NEED anymore. 

 

Instead we NEED to replace our OLD, DIRTY, FILTHY, TATTERD RAGS and replace them with BRAND NEW, SPARKLING CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES that will enhance who we REALLY are, the BORN-AGAIN, BLOOD-BOUGHT, SANCTIFIED, and RIGHTEOUS CHILD of the Living God.  Some of the clothes that SHOULD be hanging in our closets are the garments of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, along with a few others. 

 

Check out you closet and if you are a BORN-AGAIN, BLOOD-BOUGHT, SANCTIFIED, and RIGHTEOUS CHILD of the Living God, what does your closet hold?  Do you have garments of:  anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language hanging among your garments of: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience?  If you do, you NEED to get rid of them, and DON’T give them away, burn them or trash them, because they will ruin somebody else’s life, and will ruin YOUR garments of grace.   

 

Dress like a RIGHTEOUS person, who has done away with their OLD, SINFUL lifestyle and has embraced a NEW, REDEEMED lifestyle.  Put on the NEW person that Jesus Christ has made you.  You cannot MIX and MATCH.  It is either ALL NEW, RIGHTEOUS WEAR or the SAME, OLD, SINFUL WEAR. 

It is up to you to decide.  CLEAN-OUT your CLOSET by coming to God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and receive BRAND NEW, SPARKLING CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL GARMENTS of GRACE, and get rid of your OLD, DIRTY, FILTHY, SINFUL GARMENTS.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
