“Our Body---A Living Sacrifice!”

 

 

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.          Romans 12:1-2

 

When one comes to Jesus Christ, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, that individual SHOULD be willing to present their body to Him as a “LIVING SACRIFICE.”  Unlike the Old Testament sacrifice, the body of a TRUE BELIEVER is ALIVE, and represents the totality of that individual’s life and activities, which means that a TRUE BELIEVER’S WHOLE life be led by God’s Holy Spirit, who is indwelling them.

 

When the TRUE BELIEVER is LED by the Holy Spirit their “LIVING SACRIFICE” is HOLY and ACCEPTABLE to God, which invokes their “spiritual worship.” They are offering their WHOLE life to ALMIGHTY God as a “LIVING SACRIFICE,” which becomes a SACRED service. 

 

The Apostle Paul, then commands the TRUE BELIEVER, to NOT be conformed to this world, this EVIL age in which we live.  But to be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of their mind.  This is like a “metamorphosis” of sorts, which is and can ONLY be done by the work of the Holy Spirit who abides in the HEART of the TRUE BELIEVER.  It is a TOTAL change from the inside out.

 

SALVATION is a HEART thing, which is the beginning of the TRANSFORMATION process.  We cannot be a “LIVING SACRIFICE,” apart from the SALVATION experience, which makes us HOLY and ACCEPTABLE to HOLY God.  

 

Have you experienced the SALVATION part of the TRANSFORMATION process?  If NOT, you are facing an ETERNITY separated from God and ALL that is GOOD and PERFECT.  However, God is giving you the opportunity to come to Him, NOW, and become a TRUE BELIEVER.  You do that by coming to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and become a “LIVING SACRIFICE” to Him, and be TRANSFORMED into a HOLY and ACCEPTABLE, TRUE BELIEVER.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
