“Reaching the Goal!”

 

 

I do not mean that I am already as God wants me to be.  I have not yet reached that goal, but I continue trying to reach it and to make it mine.  Christ wants me to do that, which is the reason He made me His.  Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do.  Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above.        Philippians 3:12-14

 

The Apostle Paul is setting an example for ALL TRUE BELIEVERS, Paul compares his Christian life to the Greek games.  Him being a runner, running for the prize that awaits those who WIN the RACE.  He was working towards that goal, and is urging, not only the Philippian believers of his day, but the TRUE BELIEVERS of today, to NOT look back on their PAST, but to PRESS ON towards the goal, which the Lord God has waiting for them. 

 

This letter to the Philippian believers, was written some thirty years after the Apostle Paul’s conversion.  Paul had been victorious in many spiritual battles, and he had grown much in his spiritual growth, but he confesses that he is not what God wants him to be, he has not reached that goal, but the one thing Paul did was to be STEADFAST and PERSISTENT in reaching that goal.  He was not going to give-up, but would persevere to WINNING the PRIZE that God would present him with at the FINISH line of his race.

 

So it is of each TRUE BELIEVER, to RUN the RACE, as did the Apostle Paul, with STEADFASTNESS AND PERSEVERANCE to the goal, which God has set for us. We should PRESS ON in our FAITH, and not grow weak and faint by the wayside, so that we might WIN the PRIZE for which we have been called through Christ to our life in Heaven.

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you have no goal to work towards.  You are a runner in this race of life, who is barely moving and you are on the LOSING edge.  Your only goal is spending an eternity in Hell, the place of perpetual torment, torture, heartache, agony and despair, with NO WAY of ESCAPE.  You are doomed!  Unless, you come to God with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVEING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and run the race with STEADFASTNESS and PERSEVERANCE to the GOAL and to the PRIZE set before you.  Do it NOW, and be ASSURED of an eternity in Heaven.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
