“Free People Living as Slaves”

 

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.        1 Peter 2:16

 

Today, America celebrates her LIBERTY.  The Bible, the Holy Word of the Living God, tells us that we should LIVE as FREE PEOPLE.  We celebrate our FREEDOMS, today, but do we give thought to what it took to be able to HAVE and KEEP our FREEDOMS, all these many, many years?  Do we PAUSE, just a few minutes, from our celebratory activities to give THANKS, to the One who has provided what we NEEDED to obtain and live all this time as FREE PEOPLE?

 

We have SO MUCH to be THANKFUL for, living in a FREE COUNTRY.  But there are some who abuse and take for granted the FREEDOMS we enjoy EVERYDAY that we live on this earth.  Some use their FREEDOMS as an excuse to LIVE evil, depraved lives.  They use their FREEDOMS as a “cover-up” for their wrongdoings.  As long as they have their FREEDOMS and can live as FREE PEOPLE, they think that it is OK for them to LIVE carrying out their evil deeds, because, after all, they are FREE PEOPLE. 

 

Living as FREE PEOPLE, and enjoying our FREEDOMS, we are still LIMITED as to what we are FREE to do, mainly because we are a nation of LAWS, which we must OBEY and UPHOLD, in order for us to remain a FREE PEOPLE.  It is the same way, in the family of God, we, as TRUE BELIEVERS have been SET FREE, from the bondage of our SINS, yet we are to LIVE as God’s SLAVES, which means that we SHOULD be OBEDIENT to Him and His Word.  We are to LIVE according to His LAWS and PRECEPTS.  We are no longer, slaves to the sins that ruin our lives, but we have the FREEDOM to LIVE as FREE PEOPLE, who have a FUTURE of HOPE, and an ETERNITY in Heaven, instead of a FUTURE of DOOM, and a destiny of an ETERNITY in Hell.

 

Our LIVES, as FREE PEOPLE, who are living as GOD’S SLAVES, are a REFLECTION of who we are in Him.  We are to show RESPECT for ALL people:  LOVE the BROTHERS and SISTERS of God’s family, RESPECT GOD, and HONOR our LEADER (ruler, emperor, king, president,).  By doing these things we are living our lives as FREE PEOPLE, LIVING as GOD’S SLAVES.

 

Are you TRULY FREE?  If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are ENSLAVED to your SINS, and you are DOOMED to spend an ETERNITY in Hell, where you will DEFINITELY NOT be FREE, but will be held captive in a place of UNENDING torment, torture, pain, heartache, agony and despair for ALL ETERNITY, with NO WAY of ESCAPE.  But you have the OPPORTUNITY NOW, to be SET FREE from your sins, and to receive the HOPE of Heaven for all ETERNITY, by coming to God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and be a FREE PERSON, LIVING as GOD’S SLAVE.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
