“EXCELLENT ADVICE for a New Year!”

 

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.  Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret---it leads only to evil.  For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.”       Psalm 37:7-9

 

In just a few days we will be celebrating, and welcoming a New Year.  What will this NEW year hold for us?  Where will it take us, and what will be waiting for us?  NO ONE knows, but the Lord, and He’s not telling us.  So we will face each day with UNCERTAINTY and maybe a little bit of ANXIETY.  Now, the GOOD NEWS is we can be ASSURED that God is in CONTROL!  And we, who are His Children, can face the UNCERTAINTIES of a brand NEW year with TRUST and CONFIDENCE in Him.

 

The Psalmist, gives us EXCELLENT ADVICE for this New Year.   First he tells us to, “BE STILL before the Lord, and WAIT PATIENTLY for Him.”  Meaning that we should face each day with quietness, peacefulness, and assurance of God’s LOVE and GOODNESS, for His Children. And we are to “WAIT PATIENTLY for Him.”  When we WAIT PATIENTLY for the Lord, He will give us GUIDANCE and DIRECTION for our journey.  He will lead us down the right pathway.

 

We are NOT to FRET. FRET means to: WORRY, and WORRYING is a sin.  So we SHOULD NOT WORRY when people succeed in their WICKED and DEPRAVED ways, nor SHOULD we get ANGRY, but turn away from WRATH, which is GREAT ANGER or RAGE, and we SHOULD, TRUST God to take care of the situation.  WRATH will lead to evil and only bring HEARTACHE and DESPAIR. 

 

God has a plan for each person who is His Child, those who have given their HEART and LIFE to Him, and it is to INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN, with Him and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  However, His plans for those who are NOT His Children, they will be DESTROYED, and they will spend ETERNITY in Hell with ALL of its HORRORS.  Where are you headed?  In order to ESCAPE HELL, you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO God with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and begin this NEW YEAR under God’s control, and be ASSURED that He can and will handle ALL your burdens, if you will BE STILL and WAIT on Him.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He waiting and coming SOON!!!
