“Remain Steadfast in Your FAITH”

 

But you, my dear friends, must remember what the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ said.  They told you that in the Last Times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.   Jude 1:17

 

This SMALL letter is from Jude, a brother of James, and a slave of JESUS CHRIST. It is written to those who have been called by God the Father, who LOVES and KEEPS them SAFE in the care of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Jude addresses the subject of the DANGER of FALSE TEACHERS. Jude says that these people are like SHAMELESS SHEPHERDS who care ONLY for THEMSELVES.

Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, Listen! The LORD is coming with countless thousands of His Holy Ones to execute JUDGMENT on the UNGODLY of the WORLD. He will CONVICT them of their UNGODLY deeds, and they will have to give an ACCOUNT for ALL the evil things they have done. The characteristics of the FALSE TEACHERS are noted in verse sixteen. They are GRUMBLERS, FINDING FAULT, governed by their OWN LUSTS, and FLATTERING speech that BOOSTED the EGOS of those who HELPED them. And their SELF-SERVING MOTIVES, showed they did NOT SERVE GOD’S PEOPLE (Vv14-16)

In verses seventeen through nineteen, Jude reminds his READERS to REMEMBER the WARNING of the APOSTLES of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. They warned of the INFLUX of FALSE TEACHERS, who were MOCKERS, and they CAUSED DIVISIONS. They were NOT BELIEVERS.  They were DEVOID of the HOLY SPIRIT. 

But those who are TRUE BELIEVERS of JESUS CHRIST, must BUILD EACH OTHER UP in their MOST HOLY FAITH, and PRAY in the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT, and AWAIT the MERCY of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who brings ETERNAL LIFE. In this way, you will KEEP yourselves SAFE in GOD’S LOVE.  This is being STEADFAST in your FAITH.

If you have been following the teachings of someone who fits the CHARACTERISTICS of a FALSE TEACHER. STOP and DON’T CONTINUE to FOLLOW their FALSE TEACHINGS. EARNESTLY PRAY that GOD will LEAD you to a TRUE BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH, one that PREACHES and TEACHES the INFALLIBLE, TRUE, WORD of the LIVING GOD.  And NOT their OWN SELF-SERVING SPEECHES.

If you are an UNBELIEVER, and have NOT GIVEN your HEART and LIFE to GOD, through the LORD JESUS CHRIST, YOU will be JUDGED by God for YOUR SINS and will spend your ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS and NO WAY to ESCAPE, once you are there.  The WAY to change your DESTINY is to:  ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, who GAVE His LIFE to SAVE your SOUL. You MUST BELIEVE that JESUS SUFFERED, BLED, DIED, and was RESURRECTED from DEATH and the GRAVE, and He is in HEAVEN, making intercession for you, before God. You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ASK Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST BE WILLING TO TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART. You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and then REMAIN STEADFAST in YOUR FAITH. Do this NOW, while you STILL can!!! HE’S WAITING and COMING SOON, Don’t Be LEFT BEHIND!!!

You used to live in SIN, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil-the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the HEARTS of those who REFUSE to OBEY GOD.  Ephesians 2:2

Mankind’s ungodly condition is exemplified in three ways: (1.) The ungodly follow the ways of this WORLD.  The UNBELIEVERS follow the LIFESTYLES of other UNBELIEVERS. And therefore, they experience PEER PRESSURE. This WORLD is influenced by a satanically organized system, whose commander is the devil, who heads up the POWERS of the UNSEEN WORLD. This ungodly system HATES and opposes ALL that is GODLY.

(2). The world is under the CONTROL of the EVIL ONE (1 Jn. 5:19). In the MIDDLE of the TRIBULATION, this evil one will be CAST DOWN to the earth, and he will NOT be able to RULE the world, nor will he have access to the PRESENCE of the ALMIGHTY GOD. The UNSAVED will then FOLLOW this evil ruler in his OPPOSITION to God. 

(3). This spirit is PRESENTLY “at work” in UNBELIEVERS. And this spirit REFERS to “the ruler” meaning that Satan works PERSONALLY in sons of disobedience. A “son of disobedience” is one who is a DISTINCTLY DISOBEDIENT person. And the disobedient ones are not only under the PRESSURE of the world-system and Satan’s control, but they ENJOY IT!!

BUT GOD, is SO rich in MERCY, and He LOVES US SO MUCH, that even though we were DEAD because of our SINS, He GAVE us LIFE when He RAISED CHRIST FROM DEATH and the GRAVE.  (Vv 4&5) And He will REDEEM us from spending an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS and NO WAY to ESCAPE once you are there.  

If you have NOT come to JESUS CHRIST, for the FORGIVENESS of your SINS, then you will NOT be ABLE to ESCAPE and will be one who is controlled by the devil, and your DESTINY  WILL BE an ETERNITY in HELL.  To be ABLE to ESCAPE HELL, you MUST ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS DIED for YOU and that He is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for YOU before GOD.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ASK Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST BE WILLING TO TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART; You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and REMEMBER:    There is NO OTHER WAY TO HEAVEN, BUT GOD!!  Do this NOW, while you STILL CAN!!! He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  Don’t Be LEFT BEHIND!!!

“HUMILITY—A CHRISTLIKE ATTITUDE”

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His OWN advantage.   Philippians 2:5

The Apostle Paul is addressing the Philippian Believers and telling them to make their OWN attitude that of CHRIST JESUS. Who Himself was GOD in the FLESH.  Yet, He took on the ATTITUDE of a SERVANT, and in doing this He did NOT consider His EQUALITY with GOD as something that He could use to His OWN advantage.  He did NOT GIVE-UP His DIETY, but took on the mantle of SERVANT-TUDE.  And He could do this because He KNEW who He was.

Jesus, the Son of God, became a MAN, a human being, who EMPTIED HIMSELF, by assuming the FORM of a SLAVE, taking on the LIKENESS of MEN. And when He had come as a MAN in EXTERNAL FORM, He HUMBLED Himself in OBEDIENCE to God’s Plan for the REDEMPTION of MANKIND.  Thus, He became ALL MAN and ALL GOD.    

So, how can we have a CHRISTLIKE ATTITUDE?  Well, Jesus KNEW that He was GOD.  And the SERVANT ATTITUDE, never became a THREAT to Him, because He KNEW who He was.  He never lost sight of that and He was never INSECURE in His POSITION with God.  And when you KNOW who you are in RELATIONSHIP with GOD, becoming a SERVANT will NOT BE a PROBLEM for you.

Now, the question is: DO YOU TRULY KNOW WHO YOU ARE?  Are you a TRUE BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER of the LORD JESUS CHRIST? If you KNOW for sure that you have a TRUE RELATIONSHIP with GOD, the FATHER and JESUS CHRIST, the SON, then YOU should NOT have problems with being a SERVANT. If you do have a PROBLEM with it. CHECK out your RELATIONSHIP with God. You CANNOT have a CHRISTLIKE ATTITUDE without having a SERVANT ATTITUDE.  

And if you have NOT GIVEN your HEART and LIFE to GOD, then you do NOT have a RELATIONSHIP with HIM.  And you are putting your DESTINY at RISK! To be able to have a TRUE CHRISTLIKE ATTITUDE, you MUST FIRST ADMIT that you are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who with a SERVANT’S HEART, GAVE His LIFE for ALL mankind.  He was OBEDIENT to the point of death ON A CROSS to become the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE for ALL MANKIND.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART, that JESUS DIED for you and that He is ALIVE in HEAVEN making intercession for you, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to HIM and ASK Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and have a TRUE CHRISTLIKE ATTITUDE. And KNOW for SURE that YOU are a TRUE CHILD of the LIVING GOD with an ETERNAL HOME in HEAVEN.  Do this NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  Don’t Be LEFT BEHIND!!!

 

 

 

“Lives, Lived as Citizens of Heaven,”

“Lives, Lived as CITIZENS of HEAVEN”

 

Above all, you must live as Citizens of Heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the GOOD NEWS about Christ.  Philippians 1:27

 

The Apostle Paul was in Philippi, addressing the Believers of JESUS CHRIST. And it was very important to him that they conduct themselves as CITIZENS of HEAVEN.   They should do that by conducting themselves in a manner that is WORTHY of the GOOD NEWS about CHRIST.

If this was the way they conducted themselves, then Paul would know that whether he came and seen them again or ONLY HEARD about them, he would KNOW that they were conducting themselves PROPERLY as being WORTHY of the GOOD NEWS about CHRIST. 

Let us look at some of the GOOD QUALITIES that are characteristic of being a CITIZEN of HEAVEN.  FIRST, Paul encourages them to STAND TOGETHER for the FAITH, in ONE SPIRIT, ONE PURPOSE, and FIGHTING TOGETHER for the FAITH, which is the GOOD NEWS.

It was the DESIRE of Paul for them to BE UNIFIED, then they would be LIVING LIFE the way the GOSPEL of CHRIST REQUIRES.  They would be ONE in their FAITH and COMMON PURPOSE. 

They were to show NO FEAR, they were NOT to be INTIMIDATED by their enemies. Facing them, in this manner, would be a SIGN to the enemy that they were going to be DESTROYED, but that the CITIZENS of HEAVEN would be SAVED by GOD, HIMSELF.  

This manner of living with a STRONG, UNIFICATION in the FAITH and in the GOSPEL, and being COURAGEOUSLY LIVING for CHRIST would make them WORTHY of the GOSPEL of CHRIST.  Paul’s hope was to know that they were STANDING FIRM in ONE SPIRIT, in ONE ACCORD, CONTENDING TOGETHER for the FAITH of the GOSPEL.

If you are a BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER, who is NOT TOTALLY LIVING a LIFE that is WORTHY of the GOSPEL of CHRIST, you NEED to be ON your knees, CRYING OUT to GOD for FORGIVENESS and GUIDANCE, asking Him to HELP YOU  KNOW HOW to LIVE a LIFE that IS WORTHY of the GOSPEL of CHRIST.  You need to BE STRONG in YOUR FAITH, WORK in UNITY with OTHER CHRISTIANS.  And SHARE the GOSPEL with those who are NOT BELIEVERS! 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to JESUS, for the FORGIVENESS of your SINS. You MUST ADMIT to Him that you are a SINNER, in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS SUFFERED, BLED, DIED, and WAS RESURRECTED from DEATH and the GRAVE. “HOPE or NO HOPE!”

“HOPE or NO HOPE”

 

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do NOT grieve like the rest of mankind, who have NO HOPE”.                      1st Thessalonians 4:13

 

The Apostle Paul wanted the Thessalonian believers to know the TRUTH about the RAPTURE of the CHURCH, the Body of Christ. So, Paul began his instructions, especially dealing with the relationship of the Lord’s return to the BELIEVERS who had DIED.

Paul introduced his instructions in a way that there was NO GUILT on the THESSALONIAN BELIEVERS for their LACK of knowledge, AFTER ALL, they were NEW BELIEVERS. The Christians who die are, by some, known as those who have fallen ASLEEP, which was a term that was COMMON in the New Testament for those who had died. 

This does not mean the SLEEP of the SOUL but just the BODY. The Apostle Paul wrote that a BORN-AGAIN person who is ABSENT from the BODY is PRESENT with the Lord. (1st Corinthians 5:8) It is referring to the “sleep” of the BODY in the earth that will remain until it is RESURRECTED and CHANGED into a GLORIOUS body and reunited with the SOUL. (1st Corinthians 15:35-57)

It was the desire of the Apostle that the THESSALONIANS not be IGNORANT NOR GRIEVING like the UNBELIEVERS over the DEATH of FELLOW BELIEVERS. Grieving is a NORMAL human emotion. And Christians DO GRIEVE over the loss of LOVED ONES; it is an emotion that even JESUS possessed.  However, the GRIEF of Christians differs from that of unbelievers. The UNBELIEVERS have NO HOPE of BODILY RESURRECTION nor of spending an ETERNITY in HEAVEN with FATHER GOD and His SON JESUS CHRIST.   

Are YOU a TRUE BELIEVER who has HOPE of a BODILY RESURRECTION? OR are you an UNBELIEVER who has NO HOPE?  And YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY is headed in the direction of spending an ETERNITY in HELL with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY to ESCAPE once you are there.  Life is unpredictable, and fragile, you don’t know what tomorrow might hold. You have NO GUARANTEE that you will draw your NEXT BREATH.  What will you do about your ETERNAL DESTINY? 

To become a TRUE BELIEVER, you MUST COME to JESUS CHRIST, God’s ONLY Son, who is the ONLY WAY to receive ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN and to ESCAPE and ETERNITY in HELL with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY to ESCAPE once you are there.  You MUST ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS DIED for YOU and is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for YOU, before GOD. You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and make sure that you have the HOPE of an ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN.  Do the above NOW while you STILL can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  Don’t Be LEFT BEHIND!!!

Jesus answered the Pharisees, “You are from below, but I am from above.  You belong to this world, but I don’t .  This is why I said you will die with your sins UNFORGIVEN. If you don’t have FAITH in Me for who I am, you will die, and your sins will NOT be FORGIVEN.”   John 8:23-24

 

The Pharisees lacked SPIRITUAL PERCEPTION, and they were judging Jesus on HUMAN STANDARDS. Jesus told them, “My testimony is TRUE, I KNOW where I came from (Heaven) and where I am GOING (Heaven).”  The Divine Son of God is not capable of giving FALSE testimony. Nor is He capable of executing FALSE judgment.

When they asked Him about His Father, Jesus told them:  “You know NEITHER Me nor My Father.” Now, I don’t think this set very well with the Pharisees, so Jesus explained that KNOWLEDGE of the FATHER is interwove together with the KNOWLEDGE of the SON. Then He told them: “If you KNEW Me, you would KNOW My Father.” Anyone who REJECTS Jesus is incapable of KNOWING God. Because the two are INTERWOVEN. 

Then Jesus told them that He was going somewhere they could not go. Instead they would DIE in their SIN, because of their REJECTION of Him. But the Pharisees thought He was talking about SUICIDE, which indicated that their SPIRITUAL INSIGHT had NOT IMPROVED. This, then prompted JESUS to get STRAIGHT to the POINT: “You are from BELOW, but I am from ABOVE. You belong to this world, but I don’t. This is WHY I said, you will DIE with your SINS UNFORGIVEN. If you don’t have FAITH in ME for who I am, you WILL DIE, and your SINS will NOT be FORGIVEN.

Are you with the UNBELIEVING PHARISEES, and have REJECTED JESUS as SAVIOR and LORD of your LIFE?  If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to HIM, then YOU too will DIE with your SINS UNFORGIVEN, just like the PHARISEES.  And your DESTINY will be an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS and NO WAY to ESCAPE, once you are there. And you will reside BELOW. 

The GOOD NEWS is, you can COME TO JESUS and with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, be SAVED from an ETERNITY in HELL.  But you MUST DO THIS:  ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER, in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, who is GOD’S SON and the ONLY WAY to be SAVED.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS DIED for YOU and that HE is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for YOU, before GOD.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ASK Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your SINS and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and belong to the ABOVE and NOT the BELOW.  Do this NOW, while you STILL can!!!  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  Don’t Be LEFT BEHIND!!!

“The LIGHT”

“The LIGHT”

 

Once again Jesus spoke to the people.  This time He said, “I AM the LIGHT for the WORLD! FOLLOW ME, and you won’t be walking in the DARK.  You will have the LIGHT that gives LIFE.”   John 8:12

It was the Feast of Booths, and LARGE menorahs were lit and gave LIGHT to the Temple complex, this commemorated the FIRE that guided the Israelites during their wilderness wanderings and in anticipation of the Messiah who would bring LIGHT to the nations. 

After seven days of the illumination in the Temple, Jesus declared that HE was the LIGHT OF THE WORLD and ANYONE who FOLLOWED HIM would NOT WALK in DARKNESS. And they will have LIFE. 

 I have a green plant that I have placed in front of a large window, and it gets the morning sun. That plant has a vine-like stem full of leaves, and EVERY MORNING that plant’s vine-like stem is draped over the windowsill, and its leaves are REACHING towards SUN to be able to SOAK UP the RAYS and to have LIFE within. And I think if I moved the plant somewhere where it does NOT get the DIRECT SUNLIGHT, it would DIE.  It needs LIGHT to be able to LIVE. 

This is the same way with us. We NEED JESUS, the LIGHT of the WORLD, if we want to have ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN with ALL its BLESSINGS. The plant knew IT NEEDED the SUNLIGHT, to have LIFE.  So, it FOLLOWS the SUNLIGHT and it basks in the LIFE- GIVING RAYS.  But when it is in a place where the DARKNESS is, it begins to DIE. And no matter how well you take care of it, it will DIE, because it NEEDS the LIGHT. 

And that is how it is with people who are living in the DARKNESS of an EVIL, PERVERTED WORLD.  They are DYING in the DARKNESS, because they won’t come into and ACCEPT the ONE WHO is the LIGHT of the WORLD. The ONLY ONE who can GIVE them ETERNAL LIFE. 

Are YOU living in DARKNESS or have you come into THE LIGHT, JESUS CHRIST, and ACCEPTED His GIFT of ETERNAL LIFE. IF you are living in DARKNESS you can come into the LIGHT and LIVE for ALL ETERNITY, in HEAVEN, and ESCAPE an ETERNITY in HELL with ALL its HORRORS.

This is what you MUST DO:  ADMIT that you are a SINNER, living in DARKNESS, and you are in NEED of the LIFE-GIVING SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS DIED for YOU and that He is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for you before God.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ASK Him for His FORGIVENESS. You MUST BE WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL-LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and come OUT of the DARKNESS and into the GLORIOUS LIGHT. Do this NOW while you STILL can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  Do not be LEFT BEHIND!!!
