“It Will Be Worth It ALL!”
We are
pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we
are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.
Therefore we
do not give up. Even though our outer
person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is
producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on
what is unseen. For what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:8, 9, 16-18
Living a
Christian life is NOT for wimps. Paul is
telling the believers in Corinth, that even though they are pressured in EVERY
way, they are NOT crushed. They may be
perplexed but they are NOT in despair.
They may be persecuted but they will NOT be abandoned. And they may be struck down, but they are NOT
destroyed. Paul and his fellow believers were
experiencing all of the above, but Paul was NOT going to give in to the
PRESSURES, PERPLEXITIES, PERSECUTIONS, and being STRUCK DOWN. He was assured of his eternal glory, through
the work of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and he was DETERMINED to press on.
Paul was
experiencing some pretty intense sufferings, but his HEART and MIND was not
focused on what was seen. He physically
was being wasted away, but spiritually he was being RENEWED daily. He is telling us to NOT give up, but to “fight
the good fight” and to FOCUS on what is ETERNAL, and NOT TEMPORAL. He is saying that our afflictions here on earth
are incomparable to the UNSEEN glory that awaits us.
As TRUE
believers we will face adversities and experience sufferings, but we are to
walk by faith and NOT by sight. We are
to guard our hearts and not let them be ruled by fear. We are to BELIEVE in the UNSEEN and trust in
GOD for our eternal glory. This life is
TEMPORARY and is based on what is SEEN, but what takes place when we leave this
life, is ETERNAL and is based on our FAITH in GOD, and is UNSEEN or in UNBELIEF
and what is SEEN.
Those who
have not given their HEART and LIFE to God, will face the condemnation of a RIGHTEOUS
God, and will exchange their so-called “good
life” which is TEMPORARY for a life that is full of MISERY, PAIN, TORTURE,
TORMENT, and SUFFERINGS, which are ETERNAL, it will NEVER cease. If you are in this group of people, you are
NOW given the opportunity to CHANGE your destination and focus on the ETERNAL
things and NOT on the TEMPORAL things.
You do that by: CONFESSING your
sins to God, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your
HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for
you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and focus on the UNSEEN,
ETERNAL glory that awaits you when you are finished with this TEMPORARY
life. Do it NOW, while you still
can. He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
