“Living in Darkness or Living in Light”

 

This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you:  God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.  But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.       1 John 1:5-7

 

There are MANY people who claim to have fellowship with God, but they CONTINUE on living in a SINFUL LIFESTYLE.  The Apostle John, informs us that there are TWO different lifestyles; DARKNESS and LIGHT.  He says that God is LIGHT and in Him there is NO darkness AT ALL. 

 

John has spoken many times about the DARKNESS representing SIN, and the LIGHT is God.  You cannot have it both ways.  Many try to live a “double life,” they CLAIM to have FELLOWSHIP with God, yet they CONTINUE to live as the world lives, in DARKNESS.  There is NO WAY this is POSSIBLE.  If you are CLAIMING to have fellowship with God, living in the LIGHT, yet you CONTINUE to live in the DARKNESS, you are LYING, not only to others, but to yourself, as well. 

 

This is a VERY SERIOUS state to be in.  The TRUE BELIEVER is NOT perfect, they still sin, but the difference with a TRUE BELIEVER and those who CLAIM to be, but their lifestyle says differently, is, the TRUE BELIEVER is actually living in the LIGHT, and when they fall to temptation, their sin is illuminated by the LIGHT, and then they are convicted of that sin and will CONFESS it to God, and the blood of Jesus, His Son will purify them from ALL sin.  Those who CLAIM to be a TRUE BELIEVER, yet CONTINUES to live in DARKNESS, are blinded by the lie they are living, and they try to combine their DARKNESS with the LIGHT.

 

This CANNOT be done.  Jesus says:  “So, because you are: “LUKEWARM”---neither HOT nor COLD—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”  (Rev. 3:16)   Which basically tells us that we cannot have it both ways.  We are either living in the DARKNESS or living in the LIGHT.

 

When you come to God for SALVATION, you MUST SEPARATE yourself from your SINFUL lifestyle, living in the DARKNESS, and ACCEPT living TOTALLY in the LIGHT, having your sins illuminated and receiving FORGIVENESS and CLEANSING of ALL your SINS.

 

If you are living in the DARKNESS, and have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, or if you THOUGHT you had given your HEART and LIFE to God, but are CONTINUING to live in the DARKNESS. You are NOT a TRUE BELIEVER, and you have NOT received FORGIVENESS or CLEANSING from your sins, and you are living a lie, which will carry you straight to an ETERNITY in Hell.  But God in His INFINITE MERCY and AMAZING GRACE, is giving you the opportunity NOW to come to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and come from the DARKNESS into the LIGHT, and TURN AWAY FROM your OLD SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD, the TRUE LIGHT.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
