"Endure and Receive"

“Endure and Receive”

 

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

“For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.  Now the Just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.     

Hebrews 10:36-39

 

The writer of Hebrews, whom I believe to be the Apostle Paul, knew that the TRUE HEBREW BELIEVERS needed some ENCOURAGEMENT in their service and relationship with God and His Son, Jesus Christ.  So he penned this exhortation, which probably contains the CENTRAL theme of ALL the exhortations in this letter, that of a STRONG, ABIDING FAITH.  A FAITH, which would ENDURE all persecutions and torture they might encounter in their time here on earth.

 

Living the Christian life, and REMAINING FAITHFUL in ANY situation is not EASY, but it is REWARDING in the end.  Our writer, is referring to those BELIEVERS who may have started out FAITHFUL, but their FAITH became WEAK, and they willfully begin to DRAW BACK to their OLD, SINFUL lifestyle, they were what some call “back-sliders”.   

 

The Scriptures tells us that; “For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.”  Christ is coming SOON, we know NOT when, but we KNOW that it will be SOON.   Therefore, we who are TRUE BELIEVERS, MUST LIVE by FAITH, and those who DRAW BACK, will not RECEIVE their rewards, but will face punishment, while here on earth.  God will have NO PLEASURE with them. 

 

But for those who ENDURE and are FAITHFUL to the end, and do NOT DRAW BACK, but will press on to the preserving of the soul, they will inherit ETERNAL LIFE in Heaven, with God the Father, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, along with ALL their REWARDS.

 

If you are a TRUE BELIEVER, who is DRIFTING BACK into your OLD, SINFUL lifestyle, because your FAITH is WEAK, you NEED to come to God and seek His FORGIVENESS, TRUSTING Him to HELP you, by PRAYING DAILY, and STUDYING His Word.  Turn away from your OLD LIFESTYLE and ENDURE with a STRONG FAITH to the END, and RECEIVE all your rewards.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are LOST and headed for an ETERNITY in Hell with ALL its HORRORS.  You can change your direction, by TURNING AWAY from you SINFUL lifestyle, and TURNING TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and ENDURE with a STRONG, ABIDING FAITH, and RECEIVE your REWARDS.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
