“The Undivided Heart”

 

Teach me Your way, Lord, that I may rely on Your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.        Psalm 86:11

I will praise You, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.      Psalm 86:12

Be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.   1 Samuel 12:24

Blessed are those who keep His statutes and seek Him with all their heart.       Psalm 119:2

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.       Proverbs 3:5

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”        Mark 12:30

 

Psalm 86 is a prayer of David, a man after God’s own heart.  In this prayer, David petitions God to give him an UNDIVIDED HEART.  He knew that if he was to be FAITHFUL to God, and to be able to RELY on God’s FAITHFULNESS, he NEEDED to have an UNDIVIDED HEART.  An UNDIVIDED HEART is a HEART that is WHOLLY or COMPLETELY under the control of God’s Holy Spirit. 

 

It is a HEART that will offer TOTAL praise to the One, who is WORTHY and that praise and adoration will be done with an UNDIVIDED HEART. 

 

When we SERVE the Lord we are to serve Him with ALL our HEART, and to consider what GREAT things He has done for us.  We are to SEEK Him with an UNDIVIDED HEART, and NOT a HEART that is PARTIALLY seeking Him, but one that is WHOLLY seeking His presence.

 

We are to TRUST the Lord with ALL our HEART and to not lean on our own understanding.  In order to FULLY TRUST in the Lord, as we should, we MUST TRUST with an UNDIVIDED HEART. We cannot put our TRUST FULLY in Him, if we are depending on worldly means too.  It is EITHER OR, but NOT both.  It cannot be done with a DIVIDED HEART.

 

Jesus taught that the MOST IMPORTANT law for us to obey is to. “Love the Lord your God with ALL your HEART and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength.” If we are to TRULY LOVE GOD, it MUST be done with an UNDIVIDED HEART, SOUL, MIND and STRENGTH.  Do you TRULY LOVE God?  Or are you trying to LOVE Him with a DIVIDED HEART, SOUL, MIND and STRENGTH? 

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you have an UNDIVIDED HEART, but it doesn’t belong to God, it belongs to SATAN and you are headed for an ETERNITY in Hell, and ALL its horrors, with NO WAY of ESCAPE.  In order to keep from that destiny, you MUST TURN AWAY from your sins and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING, your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and PRAISE HIM, SERVE HIM, SEEK HIM, TRUST HIM, LOVE HIM, with an UNDIVIDED HEART.   Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
