“Look Forward and Do Not Slip Back!”
So think
clearly and exercise self-control. Look
forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is
revealed to the world. So you must live
as God’s Obedient Children. Don’t slip
back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do
just as God Who chose you is holy. For
the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 1st Peter 1:12-16
A very
IMPORTANT part of SALVATION is OBEDIENCE to God. And one cannot be OBEDIENT to God when they
don’t have a TRUE RELATIONSHIP with Him.
The Psalmist, wrote in Psalm 119:101, that; he refused to walk on any
evil path, so that he might remain OBEDIENT to God’s Word. He had a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God, and was
OBEDIENT to Him and His Word.
The Apostle
Peter, tells us that as TRUE BELIEVERS, we should THINK CLEARLY and EXERCISE
SELF-CONTROL. In other words, DON’T LET your
mind wonder BACK to your OLD SINFUL lifestyle, and become INFLUENCED by its
sinful ways, but EXERCISE SELF-CONTROL.
One way to do that is to LOOK FORWARD to the COMPLETION of your SALVATION
when JESUS CHRIST is revealed to the world.
You MUST LIVE as OBEDIENT CHILDREN of the LIVING GOD. And DO NOT SLIP BACK into your old ways of
living, don’t LIVE by the FLESH, but LIVE by the Spirit, which indwells you,
and is WAITING and READY to give you GODLY guidance in your DAILY LIFE.
Since your
SALVATION, you are encouraged to BE HOLY, in EVERYTHING you do, this is POSSIBLE
through the work of God’s Holy Spirit.
Like the Psalmist said: “I have REFUSED to WALK on ANY EVIL path, so
that I may remain OBEDIENT to Your Word.” We are instructed by God to BE HOLY
as He is HOLY. (Lev. 19:2)
You KNOW that God paid DEARLY to save you from
your WRETCHED, SIN-FILLED life, and the RANSOM He paid was NOT with SILVER or
GOLD, but it was with the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Jesus Christ, the SINLESS, SPOTLESS
LAMB of GOD. And JESUS has been revealed
to us in these LAST DAYS. Through this
plan of SALVATION, we have a RELATIONSHIP with Father God, who wants us to LOOK
FORWARD to our SALVATION and NOT to SLIP BACK into our OLD SIN-FILLED
lifestyle. Do you have that RELATIONSHIP
with FATHER GOD?
IF you have
NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then your DESTINY will be an ETERNITY in
HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY to ESCAPE, after you are there. You do NOT have a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with the
HEAVENLY FATHER, and you are NOT PLEASING to Him because of your DISOBEDIENCE towards
Him and His Word. You have been
REJECTING His Son, the LORD JESUS, and will not be able to INHERIT an ETERNITY
in HEAVEN, until you become His OBEDIENT Child.
You do that by: Being WILLING to
TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and to TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT
HEART. Then CONFESS your sins to Him,
and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS. And
BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that JESUS died for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in
Heaven, making intercession for You, before God. You MUST ACCEPT His Gift of SALVATION, and
LOOK FORWARD and DON’T SLIP BACK! Do
this NOW, while you still can. He’s
waiting and COMING SOON!!!
