"Trust and Rely"

“Trust and Rely”

“Who among you fears the Lord?  Who obeys the voice of His Servant?  Who walks in darkness and has no light?  Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God.”       Isaiah 50:10

These questions were posed to the remnant of Israel.  The nation of Israel was acting in REBELLION AGAINST God and His ways.  They were facing some DARK and HARD times. Even though Jesus had not yet come to earth to be the Sacrifice, for the sins of mankind, He was part of the Godhead, the Trinity, and was God’s SERVANT, and Israel was NOT being OBEDIENT to God’s Servant.   So, Isaiah had something to say to the Nation of Israel, with some questions that MUST be addressed.

First of all, “Who among you FEARS the Lord?”  I believe what Isaiah is saying is:  “Who among you REVERENCES and HONORS the Lord?”  Do we, as TRUE BELIEVERS, honestly and earnestly, REVERENCE and HONOR the Lord, or do we just give Him “lip-service?”  “Who obeys the voice of His SERVANT JESUS?”  Are we FOLLOWING the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, or are we REJECTING it and only OBEYING His voice when it is convenient for our own benefits?  “Who walks in darkness and has no light?”  Isaiah was trying to encourage the Nation of Israel to TRUST and RELY upon God and His Servant, Jesus.

It was a DARK time for Israel.  They were about to face some hard persecution and Isaiah was trying to convince them to STAY FAITHFUL to God even though they were going to be living or walking in DARKNESS.  When we have hard times, do we exercise our FAITH, by TRUSTING and RELYING on Jesus and our God, or do we TURN AWAY FROM Him and try to walk without LIGHT?

These are all questions that we, as TRUE BELIEVERS, MUST ANSWER.  And maybe, even make some changes in our RELATIONSHIP with God and the Lord Jesus Christ, by TRUSTING and RELYING on their abilities.

Where do you stand in your RELATIONSHIP with God?  Are you in REBELLION against Him and His Word?  Have you REJECTED His Son and Servant, the Lord Jesus Christ, time and time again?  If your answer is YES to both of these questions, then you are headed for an ETERNITY in Hell, with ALL its HORRORS, unless, you TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and TRUST and RELY on Jesus and Father God.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
