"Above All Else!"

“Above All Else!”

 

Above all else, guard your heart for everything flows from it.   Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.  Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix you gaze directly before you.        Proverbs 4:23-25

 

ABOVE ALL ELSE---GUARD your HEART for everything flows from it.   In Romans 10:10, the Apostle Paul tells us that; “… it is with your HEART that you BELIEVE and are JUSTIFIED…”   JUSTIFICATION is the act of being made RIGHTEOUS, and SET FREE from the penalty of your sins.  Now you KNOW why, ABOVE ALL ELSE, you SHOULD GUARD your HEART, for EVERYTHING flows from it.   “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.  For the MOUTH speaks what the HEART is full of.”  (Luke 6:45)   What is your HEART full of?

 

ABOVE ALL ELSE ---KEEP your MOUTH FREE of PERVERSITY; KEEP corrupt talk far from your lips.  The HEART and MOUTH are connected.  What is in the HEART, generally comes out of the MOUTH.   Back in Romans 10:10, the last part of the verse says:  “It is with your MOUTH that you profess your faith and are saved.”  REMEMBER!  The MOUTH speaks what the HEART is full of.   In Matthew 15:11, Jesus spoke these words:  Listen and understand.  What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them. “   So now you KNOW why, ABOVE ALL ELSE, you MUST KEEP your MOUTH FREE OF PERVERSITY and CORRUPT TALK from your lips.  Is your MOUTH CLEAN, because of the cleanliness of your HEART?

 

ABOVE ALL ELSE---LET your EYES look STRAIGHT AHEAD; FIX your GAZE directly before you.  King David gives us some SOUND ADVICE in Psalm 16:8, he says:  “I keep my eyes on the Lord, with Him at my right hand, I will NOT be shaken.” In Psalm 121:1-3 says:  “I lift up my eyes to the mountains---where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of Heaven and earth.  He will NOT let your foot slip---He who watches over you will not slumber.  So, ABOVE ALL ELSE, LET your EYES look STRAIGHT ahead, and FIX your GAZE DIRECTLY before you.   LOOKING FORWARD to an ETERNITY in HEAVEN, Is this what your EYES are FOCUSED on?

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are NOT GUARDING your HEART, but allowing WICKEDNESS to sneak in, and this will contaminate your HEART and could possibly send you to an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  God’s plan is for you to spend ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  To do that you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART that JESUS died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and ABOVE ALL ELSE, GUARD your HEART, KEEP your MOUTH FREE from PERVERSITY, and your EYES LOOKING STRAIGHT AHEAD.   Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
