"What is FAITH?"

“What is FAITH?”

 

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for.  By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.                Hebrews 11:1-3

 

TRUE SPIRITUAL FAITH, is NOT wishful thinking, but it is a DEEP-SEATED, INNER conviction based on the Word of the Living God.  The Holy Spirit gives us ALL the ASSURANCE and PROOF we NEED in order to live by FAITH and NOT by SIGHT.

 

It is by FAITH that we BELIEVE that God created the Universe, by SPEAKING it into existence.  It is by FAITH that we have the HOPE of an ETERNITY in Heaven.  It is by FAITH that we TRUST in God and His POWER, even though we cannot SEE or FEEL with our HANDS the very being of an OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCENT, OMNIPRESENT, God. 

 

After the Resurrection of Jesus, when He appeared to His Disciples, Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with them.  And when he came back to the house, where they were, they told him about Jesus’ visit.  But Thomas, being a DOUBTER, did NOT BELIEVE them.  He said:  “Unless I SEE the nail marks in His hands, and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will NOT BELIEVE.”   About a week later ALL of the disciples, including Thomas, were gathered in the house and Jesus appeared to them again.  He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; SEE My hands.  Reach out your hand and put it into my side.  STOP DOUBTING and BELIEVE.”   Then Jesus told him, “Because you have SEEN Me you have BELIEVED; BLESSED are those who have NOT SEEN and yet have BELIEVED.”   (John 20: 24-29)    Where was Thomas’ FAITH?   Where is YOUR FAITH?  Is it ONLY in what is VISIBLE?

 

When a TRUE BELIEVER lives by FAITH, they are TRUSTING in what they cannot SEE, but yet they BELIEVE.  And they will be BLESSED with an ETERNITY in Heaven.  If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, because you DO NOT BELIEVE in something or someone, whom you CANNOT SEE, how are you able to breathe?  You cannot see air, yet you trust it is there, EVERY time you take a breath.  Where is your ETERNAL DESTINY going to be?  If you have NOT TRUSTED in Christ, your ETERNAL DESTINY is a place called HELL, where you will SUFFER ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  In order to LIVE by FAITH, and experience an ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS, you MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then you MUST CONFESS your sins to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and start LIVING by FAITH, and receive an ETERNAL HOME, in Heaven.   Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
