“The Lord Is…”

 

The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress and my Deliverer, my God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold.        Psalm 18:2

 

Do you have such a relationship with the Lord God Almighty, as David did, in as much as you can, with him, declare that God is your ROCK, FORTRESS, DELIVERER, SHIELD, and the HORN of YOUR SALVATION, your STRONGHOLD? 

 

A ROCK is a symbol of STABILITY and SECURITY.  David declares that the Lord is his ROCK or his STABILITY and SECURITY, in times when he is WEAK and VULNERABLE to attacks from his enemy.  We too have an enemy, who is called the DEVIL and we NEED to have STABILITY and SECURITY when we are attacked by him.  Sometimes the attacks come in numbers and are too many and too much, for us to bear.  We NEED a ROCK, one that can provide for us STABILITY and SECURITY.   That ROCK is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

 

A FORTRESS is a symbol of a PLACE of REFUGE, a PLACE of PROTECTION.  From time to time, we NEED a SAFE PLACE to run to.  A HIDING PLACE where we can escape the HEARTACHES, and DESPAIRS of this wicked world in which we live.  We NEED a FORTRESS, a PLACE of PROTECTION.  That FORTRESS is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

 

A DELIVERER, is ONE who can SET you FREE from EVIL.  We live in an EVIL, PERVERTED, DEPRAVED world, full of people who are ENSLAVED to their EVIL practices, and are destined for an ETERNITY in HELL.  They NEED a DELIVERER, they NEED to be SET FREE from their sinful lifestyle and given a NEW LIFE, a NEW DESTINY.    The ONLY ONE who can DELIVER them is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

 

A SHIELD is a military term for PROTECTION.  Living in such WICKED and PERVERTED times, we NEED a SHIELD of PROTECTION.  We are WEAK and VULNERABLE to the devil’s schemes and deceptions.  We NEED to have STRONG PROTECTION, for our MIND and HEART.  The ONLY ONE who is capable of being our SHIELD, our STRONG PROTECTION is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

 

A HORN symbolizes STRENGTH.  As a TRUE BELIEVER, it is HARD to live by FAITH in this WICKED world.  We NEED God’s STRENGTH to be VICTORIOUS in our SPIRITUAL LIFE, to set an EXAMPLE of our FAITH to a LOST and DYING world.  We NEED to have STRENGTH.  And ONLY GOD can provide that STRENGTH.  The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is our HORN of our SALVATION!

 

A STRONGHOLD is a SHELTER.  In times like these, and in the UNCERTAIN times that lie ahead, we NEED a STRONGHOLD a SHELTER that we can run to for SAFETY and to be SECURE.  That STRONGHOLD is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

 

To the TRUE BELIEVER, the LORD GOD is ALL of these things and MORE.  To the UNBELIEVER, He is the RIGHTEOUS, HOLY JUDGE, who will bring a sentence of CONDEMNATION, and an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to GOD you cannot call Him your ROCK, FORTRESS, DELIVERER, SHIELD, HORN of your SALVATION or your STRONGHOLD.  You MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that JESUS died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  Then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and be able to call God your; ROCK, FORTRESS, DELIVERER, SHIELD, HORN of your SALVATION and your STRONGHOLD.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
