“Confession = Forgiveness”

 

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.       1 John 1:9

…If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.      Romans 10:9-10

 

An old Scottish proverb says that:  “CONFESSION is GOOD for the SOUL.”  This is ESPECIALLY TRUE in God’s PLAN of SALVATION.  Our Scripture in 1 John 1:9 tells us that IF we will CONFESS our sins, which means, “IF we will ACKNOWLEDGE our sins, He, GOD, is FAITHFUL and JUST to FORGIVE US of our sins and will CLEANSE us from all UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.”  This is SPIRITUAL MEDICINE for the SIN-SICK SOUL.

 

CONFESSION or ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of one’s SINS and SHORT-COMINGS, is a VERY IMPORTANT step in the PLAN of SALVATION.  CONFESSION is NOT so much, telling GOD all about out transgressions, but it is about us KNOWING or having KNOWLEDGE of OUR OWN PERSONAL SINS.  When we ACKNOWLEDGE that we are a SINNER, who is GUILTY of SINNING against GOD, we are getting closer to receiving the FORGIVENESS of our sins.  When this takes place, God is FAITHFUL and JUST to FORGIVE us and to CLEANSE us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.  These actions can bring PEACE and JOY to a STRESSFUL HEART, and will give ETERNAL LIFE to a SPIRITUALLY DEAD SOUL.

 

The Apostle Paul tells us:  “IF we will CONFESS with our MOUTH that Jesus is LORD and BELIEVE with ALL our HEART that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be SAVED from an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS and NO WAY to ESCAPE.  Two VERY IMPORTANT STEPS, which MUST be taken in the SALVATION PROCESS are:  “CONFESSION and BELIEVING. “  You cannot CONFESS and NOT BELIEVE, nor can you BELIEVE and NOT CONFESS, and be SAVED.  Verse ten, tells us why this is TRUE; “For with the HEART one BELIEVES and is JUSTIFIED, and with the MOUTH one CONFESSES and is SAVED.”  And that is how CONFESSION = FORGIVENESS, which = SALVATION, and ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS. 

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to GOD by; CONFESSING and BELIEVING, then your DESTINY is ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY to ESCAPE.  You MUST BE WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART. BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that, Jesus died for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your sins to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  Then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN, because of your CONFESSION and BELIEF.  So do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!  BE READY!!!
