Truly Righteous and Holy!

 

 

Put on your new nature, created to be like God---truly righteous and holy.

And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live.  Remember, He has identified you as His own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.---------Ephesians 4: 24, 30—32

 

 

When an individual feels God’s Spirit dealing with their heart and they make the decision to give their HEART and LIFE to God, they become a CHILD of the LIVING GOD, and just like our children, who FOLLOW AFTER  and IMITATE their parents,  God’s Children, should also FOLLOW AFTER and IMITATE The Lord God Almighty, Who is our HEAVENLY FATHER.  In order for a Child of God to be able to FOLLOW AFTER and IMITATE God, they must READ and STUDY His Word and then APPLY it to their lives. 

 

Paul instructs the Ephesian believers NOT to bring SORROW to the Holy Spirit of God, but to PUT ON their NEW NATURE, for they are no longer prisoners to their sins, but have come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and as He is TRULY RIGHTEOUS and HOLY so should they be TRULY RIGHTEOUS and HOLY. 

 

And they become TRULY RIGHTEOUS and HOLY by the work of God’s HOLY SPIRIT who at the time of their SALVATION has guaranteed them to be SAVED on the day of their REDEMPTION, and to be able to LIVE a TRULY RIGHTEOUS and HOLY life, by getting RID of ALL bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander and GETTING RID OF ALL TYPES OF EVIL BEHAVIOR. Because when one TRULY gives their HEART and LIFE to Jesus, they become a NEW CREATION, and they SHOULD live and WANT to live a RIGHTEOUS and HOLY life by PUTTING ON their NEW NATURE.  When they are TRULY SINCERE about their relationship with God, they should WORK at PUTTING OFF the OLD SINFUL NATURE and GETTING RID of ALL BITTERNESS, RAGE, ANGER, HARSH WORDS, AND SLANDER and ALL TYPES OF EVIL BEHAVIOR. It all boils down to being a HEART thing, you MUST want to do this, in order to make it work.

 

Paul then gives them words of Godly instruction: “be KIND to each other, TENDERHEARTED, FORGIVING one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”  This is probably one of, if not THE hardest thing to do, especially when someone has WRONGED us and HURT us deeply.  All we can think of is RETALIATION, PAYBACK TIME. But the Word of God plainly says what actions we, as His Children MUST take.  We should be KIND, TENDERHEARTED, FORGIVING. Are we PRACTICING these attributes of our NEW NATURE?  I PRAY that we, who are TRULY God’s Children, are striving to live according to His Word and APPLYING these attributes to our lives.  So when we stand before the Lord, He can look at us and say:  “Well done My GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT!”

 

If you have NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to Jesus, then you are not and cannot live a TRULY RIGHTEOUS and HOLY life.  You are making your life miserable with BITTERNESS, RAGE, ANGER, HARSH WORDS, SLANDER and ALL TYPES OF EVIL BEHAVIOR.  But you can get some relief from that kind of life by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
