“Living By the Flesh Or Living By the Spirit”

 

 

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation---but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.  For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.       Romans 8:12-13

 

As TRUE CHILDREN of the Living God, we have an OBLIGATION---NOT to be ruled by the flesh, or to live according to it, but to be controlled by the POWER of the Holy Spirit of the Living God.  

 

The TRUE BELIEVER is to rebel against their sin nature and its desires, and to be SENSITIVE, and OBEDIENT to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.  Not to LIVE according to the desires of the flesh, but to put to death those desires, and to allow the Holy Spirit to GUIDE, LEAD and DIRECT our lives.  We are to NOT let the fleshly desires influence us in ANY aspect of our lives, because the flesh brings about sinful actions that will definitely KILL a Christian witness. 

 

It is the OBLIGATION of the TRUE BELIEVER to ALLOW the Holy Spirit, which indwells them, to present them as a TRUE CHILD of the Living God, who lives by God’s SPIRIT and NOT by the FLESH. 

 

Living by the flesh, will bring about a spiritual death, which means that a person who is a TRUE BELIEVER, but is clinging to the desires of the flesh and not allowing the Holy Spirit to be in control of their lives, will not be able to grow spiritually, and they will not enjoy living by the SPIRIT of the LIVING GOD.  They will not present a GOOD, PRODUCTIVE, CHRISTIAN WITNESS.

 

However, if a TRUE BELIEVER, will LIVE by the SPIRIT, they will not only present a GOOD, PRODUCTIVE, CHRISTIAN WITNESS, they will NOT be GUILTY of LEADING others astray.  The ONLY way you can put to death the desires of the flesh is through the POWER of the Holy Spirit, therefore you MUST ALLOW the Holy Spirit COMPLETE control of your very being.  This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he said:  “count yourselves DEAD to sin” (Rom. 6:11).  Then you will be able to LIVE a SPIRITUAL LIFE.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are living by the FLESH, and you are not only experiencing a spiritual death, but will experience ALL of the HORRIBLE, ATROCIOUS feelings of HELL, which will last throughout ALL of ETERNITY, unless you come to God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and receive His Holy Spirit, and ALLOW Him to put to DEATH the desires of your FLESH, and begin LIVING by His SPIRIT.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
