“Faith and Salvation”

 

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him.  Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.        1 Peter 1:8-9

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.            Hebrews 11:1

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.      Hebrews 1:6

 

FAITH; Unquestioning belief that does not require proof.   (Webster’s Dictionary) 

The writer of Hebrews, whom I believe to be the Apostle Paul, says that FAITH is the ASSURANCE of things HOPED for, the CONVICTION of things NOT SEEN.  In our devotion today, I would like for us to look at FAITH and SALVATION.  We MUST have FAITH in order to obtain the SALVATION of our souls. 

 

In 1 Peter 1:8-9, we are told that for those who have NOT SEEN Jesus Christ, and yet they LOVE Him, and BELIEVE in Him, they can REJOICE with JOY that is BEYOND being expressed, and they are FILLED with GLORY, and have obtained the OUTCOME of their FAITH, which is the SALVATION of their souls. 

 

Remember, Thomas, Jesus’ disciple who would not BELIEVE the others when they told him that Jesus had come to them in the upper room, after His resurrection from the dead.  Jesus said to Thomas, “Have you BELIEVED because you have SEEN me?  Blessed are those who have NOT SEEN and yet have BELIEVED.   (John 20:29) 

 

God has a plan for the SALVATION of mankind’s soul.  It was instituted and carried out by His Only Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, with His DEATH on the cross and the RESURRECTION of His body.  There are MANY of us who have NOT witnessed this plan, nor have we ever laid eyes on Jesus, yet many of us have BELIEVED without SEEING it, and that is FAITH. 

 

Hebrews 11:6, tells us that; “without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God MUST BELIEVE that He EXISTS and that He rewards those who SEEK Him.”  When we come to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING, our sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL our HEART, that Jesus died for US, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for us before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, which is our REWARD for BELIEVING without SEEING, then we can ESCAPE HELL and GAIN HEAVEN for ALL of ETERNITY.  Have you done this?  Do you BELIEVE without SEEING?  If NOT, you are destined for an ETERNITY in Hell.  You MUST have FAITH to obtain SALVATION.  So do all of the above, NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
