"Living By Faith"

“Living By Faith”

 

For we live by faith, not by sight.        2 Corinthians 5:7

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.          Hebrews 11:1

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.         Hebrews 11:6

 

There is a saying that some people use:  “SEEING is BELIEVING”, however the Bible teaches us that we are to BELIEVE without SEEING, this is known as FAITH.  The Apostle Paul says that we are to LIVE by FAITH, NOT by SIGHT. 

 

FAITH is having confidence in that which we HOPE for, but cannot SEE.  Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, was one who had to SEE it to BELIEVE it.  After Jesus’ resurrection, He appeared to the disciples in an upper room, one day, Thomas was not there, when the disciples told him about the appearance of the RISEN LORD, Thomas didn’t BELIEVE them, stating that he would have to SEE Him to BELIEVE them.  A week later, Jesus appeared to the disciples again, this time Thomas was with them.  Jesus said to Thomas, “Stop doubting and BELIEVE.”  In other words, LIVE by FAITH, NOT by SIGHT.   Then Jesus told him, “Because you have SEEN Me, you have BELIEVED; blessed are those who have NOT SEEN yet have BELIEVED.”  (John 20:24-29)

 

Without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE God.  If we come to Him for our SALVATION, we MUST BELIEVE that He exists, even though we cannot SEE Him with our PHYSICAL EYES.  We MUST come to Him in FAITH that He DOES EXIST, and will reward those who EARNESTLY SEEK Him.  They LIVE by FAITH and NOT by SIGHT.  BELIEVING and TRUSTING are important parts of our FAITH, we NEED to be able to BELIEVE and TRUST without SEEING, this is TRUE FAITH.  Do you possess TRUE FAITH?  Or are you like Thomas, you need to SEE to BELIEVE? 

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God then you probably are like Thomas, and think you NEED to SEE to BELIEVE, but Jesus is telling you the same thing He told Thomas, “STOP doubting and BELIEVE!”  You can escape your ETERNAL DESTINY of Hell and ALL of its HORRORS, by TURNING AWAY FROM your SINFUL lifestyle, and TURNING TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and start LIVING by FAITH, NOT by SIGHT.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
