 “The “Do Nots” of Living a Christian Life”

 

Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.  Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.  Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life.  So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the Glory of God.   Romans 6:12-13

 

The Apostle Paul is giving his readers the ‘DO NOTS” of LIVING the CHRISTIAN LIFE.  The first “DO NOT” tells us that we are NOT to let SIN CONTROL the WAY we LIVE.  Once a person is TRULY SAVED, they should TURN AWAY FROM their OLD SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.   

 

The second “DO NOT” tells us, “DO NOT” give in to SINFUL DESIRES.  SIN wants to RULE your way of life. It desires to INVADE EVERY PART of our being.  This is the way SATAN has of DEGRADING and DESTROYING a TRUE BELIEVER’S WITNESS.  And cause them to drift BACK into their SINFUL LIFESTYLE and LEAVING little if any CHRIST-LIKENESS in a BELIEVER'S life. 

 

The third “DO NOT” tells us, “DO NOT” let ANY part of your BODY become an INSTRUMENT of EVIL to SERVE SIN.  When a person comes to JESUS CHRIST for the FORGIVENESS of their SINS and as they RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT of SALVATION, they SHOULD become a NEW CREATION, with the OLD way of life, LEAVING and a NEW LIFE become the NORM for them.  Now, when this happens, it DOES NOT MEAN that we instantly become SINLESS.  BECAUSE we are STILL in the FLESH, we will STILL have that SINFUL NATURE.  But, since we have the HOLY SPIRIT abiding in us, we have the POWER to say; “NO” to the temptation and the ABILITY to TURN AWAY FROM IT.

We are NO LONGER SLAVES to SIN.  But now we have the POWER to LIVE FOR the GLORY of GOD and the HONOR of our SAVIOR and LORD, JESUS CHRIST.  

 

If you are a CHRISTIAN and you have or are, drifting back into your OLD, SINFUL WAYS, remember, you NOW have the POWER to SAY NO and to TURN AWAY FROM that SINFUL LIFESTYLE.  You can be VICTORIOUS if you will CALL on GOD and tell Him what is in your HEART. If you are NOT a CHRISTIAN, then you are being controlled by SIN and you are SPIRITUALLY DEAD.  Your headed for an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS and NO WAY to ESCAPE, once you are there.  In order to CHANGE that destiny, you MUST ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER, in NEED of the SAVIOR, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who GAVE His LIFE to SAVE your SOUL from an ETERNITY in HELL.  And to GIVE you an ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.   You MUST BELIEVE with ALL your HEART that JESUS SUFFERED, BLED, and DIED for YOU, and that HE is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for YOU, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST BE WILLING TO TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION and “DO NOT” let SIN CONTROL your LIFE.  LET the HOLY SPIRIT LEAD you, and ALL for the GLORY of GOD.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  DON’T BE LEFT BEHIND!!!
