Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by His Baptism in water and by shedding His Blood on the cross—not by water only but by water and blood.  And the Spirit, who is Truth, confirms it with His testimony.  So, we have these three Witnesses —the Spirit, the Water, and the Blood—and all three agree.    1 John 5:6-8

 

John is telling us that there are THREE WITNESSES to the legitimacy that JESUS CHRIST is TRULY the SON of the LIVING GOD.  Those Witnesses are the WATER, the BLOOD, and the Spirit.  Unusual WITNESSES, to SAY the LEAST, but ONE THING is for SURE you cannot ARGUE the TESTIMONY of the THREE.  They were all PRESENT during JESUS’ BAPTISM, (water), the CRUCIFIXION (blood) and the SPIRIT of GOD, Who is the THIRD PERSON of the HOLY TRINITY.

 

Now, the question is do you BELIEVE what God says?  At His BAPTISM, JESUS was IMMERSED into the water, and when He came up out of the water the heavens were opened, and the SPIRIT of God descended as a DOVE, lighting on the Head of JESUS, and a VOICE out of the heavens said, “This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”  

 

Let’s look at the BLOOD of JESUS, how could the BLOOD of JESUS testify to the validity of His identity as the SON of GOD, the MESSIAH?  According to the Word of God, in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 27, verses 50-54, it tells us that Jesus shouted out and released His spirit.  At that moment the curtain in the Sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.  The earth SHOOK, ROCKS SPLIT APART, and TOMBS OPENED and MANY BODIES of the SAINTS who had fallen asleep (died), were RAISED from the dead.  And they came OUT OF the TOMBS after His Resurrection, entered the Holy City, and APPEARED to MANY.  A Roman officer and other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened.  They said, “This Man TRULY was the SON of GOD!” Plenty of EVIDENCE pointing to the fact that JESUS shed His OWN BLOOD for the REDEMPTION of ALL mankind.  

 

Now, how does the SPIRIT of GOD, present a VALID TESTIMONY?  The Spirit’s witness was magnified by the HISTORICAL FACTS that were intertwined in the WATER and the BLOOD.  Both the BAPTISM and CRUCIFIXION of JESUS are TRUTHFUL HISTORICAL FACTS.  Therefore, we can see that ALL THREE WITNESSES are in AGREEMENT concerning the AUTHENTICITY of the DEITY of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  REMEMBER:  The work of the Holy Spirit is CONFIRMING on the INSIDE what GOD does on the OUTSIDE. 

 

Do YOU BELIEVE what GOD says?  Do YOU KNOW GOD and His SON, JESUS?  COULD YOU be a WITNESS for JESUS?  If you have NOT GIVEN your HEART and LIFE to GOD, then you wouldn’t make a very VALID WITNESS.  And your ETERNAL FUTURE is in JEOPARDY, unless you COME to JESUS, with it in your HEART to SEEK His FORGIVENESS and become a part of His FAMILY.  To do that you MUST ADMIT that YOU are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS the ONE and ONLY SON of the ALMIGHTY GOD.  The ONE who GAVE HIS LIFE to SAVE your SOUL from AN ETERNITY in HELL with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY to ESCAPE, once you are there.  You MUST BELIEVE that JESUS shed His BLOOD and DIED for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for YOU, before GOD.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.   Then you MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your SINFUL LIFESTYLE, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION, and become a STRONG WITNESS for JESUS, and spend your ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  Do this NOW, while you STILL CAN.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  DON’T be LEFT BEHIND!!!
