Be Careful, Follow, And Prosper!

 

 

“Be Careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or the left.  Follow the whole instruction the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, prosper and have a long life in the land you will possess.”--------Deuteronomy 5:32-33

 

These are the words of Moses to the Children of Israel concerning the Ten Commandments for the Covenant Community.  But I believe that they are applicable to ALL of God’s Children today, and since our salvation is not brought about by whether we keep the WHOLE laws, we are EXPECTED to strive to be OBEDIENT to ALL the commands of the Lord God. 

 

As God’s Children, those of us who have given our HEARTS and LIVES to Him, need to follow His instructions in EVERY detail.  The ONLY way we can do that, is to know what His instructions are and we can know that by READING and STUDYING the Word of God. 

 

Just as Moses instructed the Children of Israel to do, God’s Word instructs His Children to, “not turn aside to the right or the left,” but to stay STRAIGHT on the path that God has commanded us to FOLLOW.  We are to follow the WHOLE instruction the Lord has given us and to be able to do that we must first know what His instructions are.  Therefore, we need to know the Word of God and to KNOW the Word of God, we must STUDY the Word of God and then apply it to our lives.  In other words, we MUST BE OBEDIENT to His Word.

 

When we have been OBEDIENT to His Word and FOLLOWED His path, then we may LIVE, PROSPER, and have a LONG LIFE in the land we will possess.  The SECOND COMING of Christ, NOT the rapture, but AFTER the Tribulation period, when Christ returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth, for a thousand years, We, His Children, will possess the land.

 

If you have NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to Jesus, then you are not OBEYING His commands and are living in DISOBEDIENCE to the Almighty God.  You are on the WRONG path.  You are on the path that leads to spiritual death and destruction, but you can change you path by:  CONFESSING your sins to God, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
