The Battle From Within

 

 

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.  Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.  The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants.  And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite of what the sinful nature desires.  These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.--------Galatians 5: 16-17,19-23

 

 

Whoever says that the Christian life is for wimps, really does not know the first thing about living a Christian life.  It is a battle from the day you invite Christ into your HEART, to the day your spirit departs your body and goes to meet its eternal destiny.  However, if you allow the Holy Spirit to guide your life you will have HELP in living the Christian life and you will be a VICTOR in the battle that rages inside the believer.

 

The battle is between the forces of GOOD and EVIL.  The sinful nature versus the Holy Spirit.  When we are born, we are born with a sinful nature.  Then when we are ‘born again’ we are born with the nature of the Holy Spirit of the Living God inside us and they are two different natures that are OPPOSITE of each other so they are CONSTANTLY battling each other.  But WE are the factor that will determine the outcome of the battle. 

 

If we give into our sinful nature then we will fall into the enemy’s hands and do his beckoning.  The results of which are living a life that is influenced by: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties and other sins like these. These are ALL against the desires of the Holy Spirit that indwells us.

 

But when we live by the Holy Spirit, we live a life that is consumed by the ‘fruit of the Spirit,’ which is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Living by the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to have free reign in our lives, gives us the VICTORY we need to be able to do those things that God wants us to do.  And our lives are producing the kind of ‘fruit’ that we need to WIN the battle from within.  So let’s be VICTORIOUS and allow the Spirit to overcome the sinful nature.

If you have NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to Jesus, then you are not VICTORIOUS, but you are living a DEFEATED life that is controlled by the Ruler of Darkness, the Devil, himself is in control of your life and destiny, which is not a pleasant scenario.  You can, however, be VICTORIOUS in the ‘battle from within’ by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
