“Law and Grace”

 

Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”   

Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.

So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.  Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.   

Galatians 3:11, 23, 24, 25

 

Moses received God’s law for mankind, which was given to him by God for the purpose of setting up guidelines for the Israelites to live by.  There were ten commands that God wanted the Israelites to abide by.  They were and are NOT a means of justification between mankind and God.   Verse eleven indicates that the one who relies on the law is not justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 

 

Ephesians 2:8-9, says:  For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through FAITH –and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.  Which means that we obtain God’s AMAZING GRACE, by FAITH and not by ANYTHING we have DONE.  It is not obtained by our works, but by our FAITH.

 

If we could obtain God’s grace from keeping the Law, which is impossible to do, because when you break one you have broken them ALL, but IF it were possible then Christ’s death and resurrection was in vain.  I once witnessed to a man, and I asked him what he thought it took to get into Heaven and his answer was:  “keeping the Ten Commandments.”  If that is what you are depending on.  You are under a delusional pretense. 

 

God looked down on mankind and saw that they were NOT keeping the Law, and the ONLY way for mankind to be justified was by the shedding of blood, but not just any blood.  It had to be from a PERFECT Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ. 

 

Before the coming of Christ, people were held in custody under the law, until Christ came and paid the price, so they might be justified by faith.  Now those who come to Him through FAITH has obtained God’s AMAZING GRACE.  And through HIS WORK on the cross and His VICTORY over death we, who have ACCEPTED Him, are all Children of God.

 

If you have not received God’s grace through FAITH, but are relying on how “good” you are.  You are DOOMED to spend ALL eternity in Hell, a place of, torment, torture, pain and despair.  However you can change your destiny by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and become one of His Children through FAITH.  Do it NOW, while you still can.   He’s waiting and coming SOON!
