“TRUTH”

 

 

“You are a king then?”  Pilate asked.  “You say that I’m a king, “Jesus replied.  “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this:  to testify to the truth.  Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice. “   “What is truth?”  said Pilate.          John 18:37, 38

 

What is TRUTH?  According to Webster’s Dictionary, TRUTH is:  The quality or state of being TRUE.   The quality of being in agreement with reality or facts: correctness, honesty, sincerity.  I believe that TRUTH is also connected to TRUSTWORTHY, which means being dependable or reliable, worthy of TRUST. 

 

The opposite of TRUTH is FALSEHOOD or a LIE, which means: to make a statement or statements that one knows is FALSE, especially with intent to deceive.  A person who tells lies is called a LIAR.  Some people take offense to that title, but as the saying goes, “if the shoe fits wear it.”

 

The difference between the TRUTH and a FALSEHOOD or LIE is:  TRUTH brings about TRUSTWORTHINESS, and LYING does NOT.  TRUTH brings about HONESTY, LYING does NOT.  TRUTH brings about SINCERITY and LYING does NOT. 

 

In our Scriptures, Pilate is questioning Jesus about His deity.  He asked Jesus if He was King of the Jews.  Jesus answered Pilate by saying that His kingdom was not of this world.  To which Pilate replies with:  “You are a king then?”  Pilate being the scheming, clever person that he was, did not BELIEVE that Jesus was a TRUE KING, and was trying to get Jesus to say that He was, so that in Pilate’s depraved mind, he might be able to catch Jesus in a LIE, but Jesus, KNEW Pilate’s intentions and came back with:  “You say that I’m a king.”  “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this:  to testify to the TRUTH.  Everyone who is of the TRUTH listens to My voice.”  To which Pilate replied, with sarcasm, I suppose.  “What is TRUTH? “

 

Some people are habitual liars, which means that they lie so much that they can’t distinguish the TRUTH from a LIE.  Here lately, we have heard from one of our candidates for the Presidency of the United States, and Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces, MANY, MANY substantiated LIES, about classified e-mails, the murder of four of our national HEROES in Benghazi, and many of her policies, which she wishes to inflict upon the citizens of this Nation.  TRUST ME, this did NOT come from the voice of our Lord.  He says that everyone who is of the TRUTH LISTENS to His voice.  As God’s TRUE CHILDREN, we have an OBLIGATION to uphold His statutes and laws.  So when we go to vote, we MUST ask ourselves, TRUTHFULLY, should we vote for someone who has this problem, to lead our nation, to determine the future for our children and grandchildren, an individual, who supports late term abortions, the murder of tiny babies, by sucking their brains out, while they are still alive.  GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR POOR WRETCHED, SINFUL, CORRUPT, LOST nation.  WE NEED to be PRAYING, PRAYING AND PRAYING!!!

 

If you are going along that same path, and have rejected God’s gift of SALVATION, then your fate is the same as this nation.  You will be DOOMED to spend ALL eternity in Hell, the place of torment, torture, heartache, and despair, with NO way of escape.  But God is giving you the opportunity to TURN away from your SINFUL life and come to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and live a life of TRUTH, HONESTY, SINCERITY, and TRUSTWORTHINESS, with the HOPE of Heaven.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
