 “The Oil of Joy”

 

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy more than your companions.   Psalm 45:7

 

JOY is the deep inner feeling of CONTENTMENT, SATISFACTION, and DELIGHT.  The difference between JOY and HAPPINESS, is HAPPINESS is more TEMPORARY and HAPPINESS depends a lot on one’s environment or situations that occur.  JOY is more PERMEANT and is a DEEP-SEATED, SPIRITUAL feeling that last, no matter what your circumstances may be. TRUE ABIDING JOY can only be EXPERIENCED by a TRUE BELIEVER of the LIVING GOD.  

 

Our Scripture, I believe, is speaking of King David’s covenant with ALMIGHTY GOD.  It is known as the DAVIDIC COVENANT.  The Psalmist, says: “Your throne, God, is FOREVER and EVER,” this is a PROMISE made to David, concerning the LORD JESUS CHRIST, when He will RETURN to earth, and will set up His Kingdom, and it WILL be an EVERLASTING KINGDOM, and will include those who are TRULY GOD’S CHILDREN, those who have DEFINITELY given their HEART and LIFE to God.  Those who will spend their ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  

 

This GLORIOUS time is what ALL God’s Children are LOOKING FORWARD to, really, more to the RAPTURE right now. Then after the Tribulation period has ended, Christ will set up His Kingdom for a thousand years. All of God’s Plans for His Children brings them GREAT JOY.  The Psalmist, informs us that because we LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS and HATE WICKEDNESS, GOD, has ANOINTED us with the OIL of JOY, more than ANY others.  This happens when we TRULY BELIEVE that JESUS, GOD’S ONLY SON, came to earth to BRING SALVATION to the LOST and DOOMED mankind.  And when we TRULY TRUST Him as our SAVIOR and LORD, then we can EXPERIENCE TRUE, ABIDING, EVERLASTING JOY.  And we are ANOINTED with the OIL of GOD’S JOY, which is for His CHILDREN.  Do YOU belong to Him?  Have you ever experienced His UNFAILING LOVE, and ETERNAL JOY? 

 

You can, if you will be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your sinful life-style, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  And if you will ADMIT that you are a SINNER in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.  And BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that JESUS died for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS and HATE WICKEDNESS, and ACCEPT His Gift of SALVATION, and let Him ANOINT you with the OIL of JOY.  DO this NOW, while you still can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!
