“Be Like An Olive Tree”

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the House of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.   Psalm 52:8

The OLIVE TREE, is a BEAUTIFUL, HEARTY, LONG-LASTING tree.  It is known to last anywhere from 300-500 YEARS and some with TENDER LOVING CARE has been known to last into the THOUSANDS of years.  They are VERY BENEFICIAL to mankind for HEALTH benefits, as well as GROOMING, and its FRUIT is very HEALTHY.  It is a symbol of PROSPEROUSNESS in GOD’S presence.  It has been STRONG and has WITHSTOOD the STORMS of LIFE, many times, and has PERSEVERED through MANY DIFFICULTIES within its environment.  

No wonder, David compared himself to the FLOURISHING, GREEN OLIVE TREE.  He knew it was because of the ALMIGHTY GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE, which he TRUSTED and BELIEVED in WHOLE-HEARTEDLY, and could do so in ANY situation in which he found himself .   Can you compare yourself with a FLOURISHING OLIVE TREE?  Are you one, whose FAITH is HEARTY, LONG-LASTING, and STRONG enough to WITHSTAND the STORMS of this LIFE?  In other words, are you experiencing the UNFAILING LOVE of the ALMIGHTY GOD, and TRUSTING in that LOVE, with ALL your HEART?

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are not experiencing GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE.  But you CAN, if you will come to the foot of the Cross, and to GOD’S ONLY SON, the LORD JESUS CHRIST for your SALVATION.  To be able to “Be like an OLIVE TREE, you must TRUST in GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE, you do that by FIRST ADMITTING that you are a SINNER, in NEED of the SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.  And you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART that JESUS died for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  You MUST CONFESS your SINS to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST be WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your OLD SINFUL LIFE-STYLE, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  And you MUST ACCEPT God’s Gift of SALVATION, and BE LIKE AN OLIVE TREE, FLOURISHING in the PRESENCE of GOD and His UNFAILING LOVE.  Do this NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s WAITING and COMING SOON!!!  DON’T BE LEFT BEHIND!!!
