Joseph's Dilemma

Joseph was a good man and did not want to embarrass Mary in front of everyone.  So he decided to quietly call off the wedding.  While Joseph was thinking about this, an angel from the Lord appeared to him in a dream.  the angel said, "Joseph, the baby Mary will have is from the Holy Spirit. Go ahead and marry her.  then after her baby is born, name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins."------Matt. 1:19-21

What a DIFFICULT predicament Joseph found himself in.  I would imagine that he had DEEP FEELINGS for Mary, and could not believe that she would or could do such a thing.  He knew that she was a GODLY young lady with impeccable qualities and a STRONG, DEVOUT FAITH, so how could this be happening?

In order to PROTECT her, he decided to QUIETLY call off the wedding plans, and not bring embarrassment to her or her family and to spare her life.  Even though their marriage was a PREARRANGED one, I believe that maybe LOVE was developing between them.  I believe that this situation brought ANGUISH to Joseph's heart, and mind, he must have wondered, "how could Mary do such a thing?" While Joseph was contemplating HIS PLANS, GOD had other PLANS, and sent an angel to Joseph , and the angel said this to him, "Joseph, the baby Mary will have is from the Holy Spirit.  Go ahead and marry her.  Then after her baby is born, name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins."  Joseph's mind must have been FLOODED with all kinds of questions, such as:  "What a STRANGE WAY to SAVE God's people?"  "How can a TINY, NEWBORN, baby SAVE ANYBODY?"  and "Why ME, Why Mary?

I'm sure Joseph spent many sleepless nights PONDERING what the angel had instructed him to do.  NEVERTHELESS, Joseph did EXACTLY as the angel said.  He was OBEDIENT and FAITHFUL to the TASK that the LORD GOD had CALLED him to do.  Is God calling you to do what you think is an IMPOSSIBLE TASK?  If so you NEED to put your TRUST IN Him and STEP OUT in FAITH and be OBEDIENT to Him.  You NEVER know where it will lead you.

Maybe, you have NEVER STEPPED OUT in FAITH, to ACCEPT the gift that He has waiting for you.  You can receive that SPECIAL gift by coming to Him and :  CONFESSING your sins to God then ask for His FORGIVENESSS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He's waiting!!!
