The Star!

 

 

“Where is the newborn King of the Jews?  We saw His star as it rose, and we have come to worship Him.”

…And the star they had seen in the east went on ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.  They were thrilled and excited to see the star.    Matthew 2: 9-10

 

The STAR, where did it originate? And what Planet was it?  Well, the wise men, of which, some are said to have been ASTRONOMERS, men who studied the heavens and the STARS and were WELL ACQUAINTED with the origins and positions of the planets, did not know where the STAR came from.  But this STAR was a new star that they had not seen before.  This mysterious STAR is similar to the “pillar of fire,” that led the Children of Israel in their exodus, with Moses, across the wilderness, on their trek to the PROMISE LAND.

 

Some scholars believe that this STAR could have been the “Shekinah glory of God.”  Nevertheless, this UNEXPLAINED STAR led the wise men to the EXACT PLACE where the Christ Child was, just like the PILLAR OF FIRE led the Israelites through the wilderness.  Could it have been the “SHEKINAH GLORY OF GOD?”

 

I believe we could say that the MYSTERIOUS STAR that night, the ONE that LED the wise men to the Christ Child, is similar to the Holy Spirit of the LIVING GOD, who LEADS US to CHRIST, when we are LOST and WANDERING in the WILDERNESS of SIN and can’t FIND our way to the SAVIOR, when we get to the point where we have had enough of the WILDERNESS and God says, “that’s enough!”  Then the Holy Spirit shows up and LEADS the WAY to Christ. 

 

Now we have the CHOICE to FOLLOW the HOLY SPIRIT, as did the wise men to FOLLOW the STAR, which will/did lead US to JESUS CHRIST.  If you are WANDERING in the WILDERNESS OF SIN, and feel you have had enough, and are WILLING to be LED by the HOLY SPIRIT to JESUS.  All you have to do is: CONFESS your sins to God and ask for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting.
