Beware of Smooth Talk and Flattering Words!

 

 

Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned.  Avoid them, for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites.  They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words.--------Romans 16:17-18

 

 

We live in a world where evil and wickedness abounds.  It has definitely become the devil’s playground where ungodliness has been the atmosphere for his “cat and mouse” games with the souls of mankind.  He has No regard or respect at all, for God’s Children and he has NO rules, anything and everything goes even in the churches.

 

Many churches are controlled by people who are intent on having things their way with NO regard to the Word of God, if it appeases them, it goes.  If it goes against what they believe or want, regardless of what the Word of God says, then they will cause dissension and obstacles among the members of the church.

 

The Apostle Paul says to AVOID them, in other words, STAY AWAY from them and do not give credence to their beliefs or ways, because they DO NOT serve our Lord, but ONLY their OWN desires.  We MUST be on ALERT to their ways.  Paul says:  “They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words.”    Some people in the churches today are being influenced by what appeals to them and not necessarily to what the Word of God says.  So many want to MIX the truth with error and God says that we can’t live both lifestyles.  We are either FOR Him or AGAINST Him.  If we are FOR Him then we will follow His WORD and APPLY it to our lives. 

 

In order to be FOR Him, we need to KNOW what His WORD says so we might KNOW the TRUTH and be able to LIVE for Him and NOT for ourselves or for somebody else.  To KNOW the TRUTH, you have to READ and STUDY the Word of God.  You do this by getting into a church where they TEACH and PREACH the UNDILUTED, UNALTERED, INFALLIBLE Word of God.   With the help of the Holy Spirit, which indwells you, you can KNOW when someone is trying to deceive you with a FALSE DOCTRINE, if that is the case, you need to distance yourself from them and go where you are under the TRUTH of the Word of God.  Don’t let their smooth talk and flattering words be you demise.  STAND on the TRUTH of the WORD.  Being a TRUE Child of God is not EASY, but it is so REWARDING and in the end you will truly reap what you sow.  So be ALERT and STAY in the WORD, KNOW what it says and LIVE by it.

 

If you have not given your HEART to Jesus, then you are being deceived by the devil and his schemes to get you into his playground and entice you to dabble in his games that will determine your destiny.  However, you have the opportunity, NOW to stay AWAY from him and his playground by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and AVOID the FALSE, FLATTERING words of the SMOOTH TALKERS. Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
