One Body

One Body

 

 

For Christ Himself has brought peace to us.  He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in His own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.  He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations.  He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in Himself one new people from the two groups.  Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.  He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from Him, and peace to the Jews who were near.  Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.-------Ephesians 2:14-18

 

The Apostle Paul addresses the problem of hostility between the Jewish believers and the Gentile believers that developed because the Jewish believers wanted to keep the law with its commandments and regulations and the Gentiles were unconcerned about them.  Their differences created a barrier or wall between them.

 

However, when Christ came He made the law, with its commandments and regulations, inoperative.  And therefore so should the barrier or wall of Jew-Gentile hostility be gone.

 

Paul says that Christ has brought peace on us.  He has united ALL believers, Jews and Gentiles into ONE people through His death on the cross.  By the unification of ONE people He has created ONE body from the two groups. 

 

Together as ONE body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by His death on the cross and our hostility was put to death as well. 

 

One day I was thinking about my relationship with the Lord and the thought entered my mind:  “What if Christ came and died on the cross for the redemption of the Jews ONLY.”  Which made me EXTREMELY thankful that it wasn’t like that.  With God there is NO Jew or Gentile, male or female, bond or free, we are ALL His children and we are all ONE BODY.  We represent the body of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who reconciled us ALL to God, no matter what race we are.

We are ALL part of His family and All His children, and because of what Christ has done for us we can come to the Father through the SAME Holy Spirit.  And there SHOULD NOT be any hostility or division in the ONE BODY of Christ.  We SHOULD come together as ONE people, God’s people united by the shed blood of His precious Son.

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, you are not part of the ONE BODY, but you can be, no matter what your race is or your gender.  Christ died for you to bring you into His ONE BODY, to be reconciled to God and become a part of His family and you can do this by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and become a part of His ONE BODY.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can. He’s waiting!!!
