Unconfessed Sin=Unanswered Prayers!

 

 

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.  But God did listen!  He paid attention to my prayer.  Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw His unfailing love from me.--------Psalm 66:18-20

 

 

It amazes me to know that there are some people who believe that God hears the prayers of people who are PRACTICING or LIVING in UNCONFESSED sin.  The ONLY prayer that He hears of a person who is harboring sin in their hearts is the prayer of REPENTANCE. Then after they have CONFESSED their sins and REPENTED of them, before Almighty God, He will hear their requests. This is true of the believer and non-believer.

 

It’s like a person who is invited to meet royalty and they come dressed in FILTHY, DIRTY, PUTRID SMELLING, RAGS and expect to have an audience with the King.  The only way for them to be able to come into the presence of the King is for them to go and wash away the FILTH and DIRT and change their PUTRID SMELLING RAGS to CLEAN PURE SMELLING clothes. 

 

So it is with a person who wishes to come before a RIGHTEOUS, HOLY GOD with petitions of prayer, and is harboring UNCONFESSED sins in their heart.  How could they possibly think that the RIGHTEOUS, HOLY GOD, CREATOR of ALL creation would hear their petitions of prayer, in their present state, when He couldn’t even look on His ONLY Son, who knew NO sin, but took on the sins of ALL mankind when He hung on that old rugged cross, because of God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS He was unable to look upon His PRECIOUS SON, who in HIMSELF was BLAMELESS and SINLESS.

 

So if you are a Child of God and have UNCONFESSED SIN in your heart, you MUST CONFESS that sin before God in order for Him to HEAR and ACT on your request.  The Psalmist CONFESSED his sins to God and was able to declare that God LISTENED and paid ATTENTION to his requests and did NOT remove His UNFAILING LOVE from him.  But because of His UNFAILING LOVE, God responded to the CONFESSION and then to the PETITIONS.

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God then He will NOT hear ANY of your PRAYERS, until you PRAY that PRAYER of REPENTANCE, and get rid of your FILTHY, DIRTY, PUTRID SMELLING RAGS, you do that by:  CONFESSING your sins to God, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and have the ASSURANCE that He will hear you when you call to Him and experience His UNFAILING LOVE.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
