"Being Sanctified and Found Blameless"

“ Being Sanctified and Found Blameless”

May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.  May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.        1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

These verses of Scripture are part of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the believers in Thessalonica.  It was his wish that the believers would open themselves up to the work of God’s Holy Spirit in their lives so that they would be free from the guilt of their sins and would be able to present themselves BLAMELESS at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The verses proceeding these verses lays out some of the things Paul was encouraging them to do or not to do in order to be sanctified by God, Himself.  They were to:  Warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.  Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.  Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; do not quench the Spirit.  Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, and reject every kind of evil.  These things seem to be IMPOSSIBLE tasks to be carried out, but this is the beauty of God’s AMAZING GRACE, He provides us with His Holy Spirit to enable us to do what might seem IMPOSSIBLE to us, but POSSIBLE with His leadership.

When we submit ourselves to God’s Spirit we are able to accomplish WHATEVER, He wants us to do.  Therefore we are sanctified or ‘set apart’ through and through, and our WHOLE being, spirit, soul and body will be presented BLAMELESS at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But this can ONLY be accomplished through the SUBMISSION of our WHOLE being, spirit, soul and body.

When a person is saved by grace, God does not leave them alone to work out their Christian growth on their own capabilities, but He gives them His Spirit to enable them to grow and mature in their faith.  God who calls us and justifies us by His grace will also sanctify us by His grace.  We then, can be assured of being found BLAMELESS AT the coming of our Lord.

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you will NOT be found BLAMELESS before God and He will not sanctify you for His purpose in your life.  You will face judgment of your sins and will be sentenced to spend ALL eternity in Hell, a place of torment, misery and heartache, a place that separates you from the very presence of Almighty God.  This is your destiny, unless you turn FROM your sins and turn TO God for the salvation of your soul.  You do that by:  Confessing your sins to God and asking Him for His forgiveness, believing with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU, and is alive in Heaven making intercession for you, before God, then accept His gift of salvation, and be submissive to the working of His Spirit, and be sanctified for His work in you.  And be found BLAMELESS at the coming of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting, and coming SOON!!!
