“The Mysterious Faith of the True Believer”

 

You love Him, though you have not seen Him.  And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.        1 Peter 1: 8-9

 

The mindset of mankind, and especially today, is this:  “I’ll believe it when I see it. “  Even one of Jesus disciples had that same mindset, if anybody should believe without seeing, it would seem that those twelve men, who lived with Jesus would have believed Him without having proof, it seems as though they would have taken His word and would have believed that He was who He claimed to be, but there were doubters even among them. 

 

Today, many people call themselves Christian, yet if you didn’t know them, their actions and words would NOT implicate that claim.  And NO I am not judging, but fruit inspecting.  Jesus says that we are to bear fruit.  GOOD fruit, not spoiled or rotten.  He also said that the world would KNOW who we are by our love.  We would live in such a way that there would be NO doubt as to what we believe.  But our salvation doesn’t come by GOOD works, but through Gods UNDESERVED GRACE and UNENDING MERCY and through FAITH, on our part. 

 

We MUST BELIEVE with ALL our HEART that God DOES exist, and He is ALIVE and WELL, and that Jesus, His ONE and ONLY Begotten Son is also ALIVE and WELL, in Heaven at the right hand of God.  This MUST be a TRUE HEART experience.

 

The Apostle Paul told the Hebrews in His letter to them that …”Faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is NOT seen.”  Jesus said to His disciple Thomas, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Those who believe without seeing are blessed.”  That is the crux of the mysterious faith of the TRUE believer.  We BELIEVE in God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, with ALL our HEART, and because it is a HEART thing and not just knowledge, we have a deep abiding love for Him, that causes us to exude with inexpressible and glorious joy, even in the face of persecution and death.  Those precious souls who stood with guns pointed at their heads or those who were marched out to their death by being beheaded, exemplified their FAITH in Christ Jesus and yet they BELIEVED and LOVED Him without seeing or touching Him. 

 

It is those TRUE believers and those who are like them that possess BLIND FAITH and BELIEVE without seeing that will reach their goal of their faith, the salvation of their souls.  Works, or your status in life, your wealth, even being a member of a church or the act of being baptized, won’t get you the salvation of your soul, ONLY  believing with ALL your HEART in the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ, not just knowing it in your mind, but POSSESSING it in your HEART.  Jesus said, “I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, NO ONE comes to the Father, but through ME!”  (John 14:6).  You can’t obtain salvation ANY OTHER WAY, but through Faith in the one you have not seen but BELIEVE IN.

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you have NO hope of inexpressible and glorious joy because you do not possess salvation of your soul.  But you can have that HOPE and possess SALVATION of your soul by:  Confessing your sins to God and asking Him for His forgiveness, believing, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is alive in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then accept His gift of SALVATION and have that inexpressible and glorious joy in knowing you have the HOPE of Heaven.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON !!!
