“The Peace of God”
Do not be
anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
These
Scriptures speak directly to my heart, and brings a smidgen of conviction,
because I am somewhat of a “worry wart.”
At times I have a problem with worrying about things, especially things
I can’t do anything about, but I am striving to overcome this transgression. Now I would venture to say I’m NOT in that
boat alone.
But I am
learning that we can have joy, in our hearts, when we are faced with situations
in which we have NO control over. We
can obtain this ‘joy’ with an awareness that God’s in control, and the return
of Jesus Christ is imminent, which should dispel the anxiety we feel.
Jesus warned
against worry which obviously takes away our trust in our Heavenly Father. There is a difference between being genuinely
concerned and worrying. The Apostle Paul
instructs us that in EVERY situation, by PRAYER and PETITION, with
THANKSGIVING, bring our requests to God, and leave them with Him. That will BUILD our trust in Him and give us
His peace.
A PEACE,
which transcends ALL understanding. A
PEACE, which can’t be experienced by anyone, except for God’s Children. A PEACE, which can’t be understood. A PEACE that will guard our HEARTS and MINDS
in Christ Jesus.
Prayer with
THANKSGIVING, exemplifies our TRUST in our Heavenly Father, and His ability to
do ALL that we ASK Him to do, if it is in accordance with His Holy will.
So if you
are NOT a Child of God, then you cannot experience the PEACE of God, unless you
come to Him for the salvation of your soul, and you do that by: Confessing your sins to Him, and asking Him for
His forgiveness, believing, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and
is alive in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then accept His
gift of salvation and don’t be anxious about any situation, but receive the
PEACE of God, which will guard your HEART and MIND. Do it NOW, while you still can. He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
