“Remembering and Meditating!”
I remember
the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands
have done. I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.
Psalm 143:5-6
We are truly
living in troubling times and yearn for a more settled time, a secure time, a
more spiritual time, a time that will develop into a prosperous time for our
children and grand-children.
We contemplate on the past, when we could
sleep in our homes, at night with the doors unlocked and the windows raised to
let in the cool night air, a time when our children could ride their bikes over
to a friend’s house, without fear of being abducted. A time when we didn’t have to worry about
human trafficking, drugs, and bullying, or home-land terror and Isis. A time when church was the center of our
homes, and the WHOLE family attended, and worshiped the Living God. A time when people were kind, considerate,
mannerly, and respectful, especially when kids were respectful to adults, they
would always say “Yes mam” or “No mam,” “Yes sir,” or “No sir,” and were taught
proper manners. Our police were
respected and trusted, and we felt safe and secure.
When we
REMEMBER “the good old days,” and how God had blessed our once great nation,
and we MEDITATE on those blessings, and then we look around us today, we
shutter in disbelief at how much we, as a people, have transgressed and have
become so UNGODLY and DEPRAVED in our life-style.
We have become
‘tolerant’ of some horribly bad things and have allowed Satan to enter our
homes and lives, and have shut out God and His influence on us. Now we are
reaping what we are sowing.
The Psalmist
says, “When I REMEMBER the days of long ago; I MEDITATE on ALL your works, and
I consider what your hands have done. I
spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.” His faith is rekindled and his spirit is
strengthened when he REMEMBERED and MEDITATED on ALL of God’s mighty works. And when he considers what God’s hands have
done, He spreads out his own hands in surrender and praise, acknowledging that
his poor, wretched, thirsty soul needs to be revived by some LIVING WATER.
I think we,
as TRUE believers, need to REMEMBER and MEDITATE on ALL God’s works and to
CONSIDER what His hands have done and to reach out our hands in SURRENDER and
PRAISE. We need to acknowledge our poor,
wretched, thirsty soul and be revived by some LIVING WATER too.
If you have
NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are living an UNGODLY life-style
and are headed for Hell, a place that is TOTALLY VOID of God. A place of torment, torture, pain, agony and
despair for ALL of eternity, but God in His AMAZING GRACE and UNENDING LOVE, is
offering you the opportunity to turn from your sinful ways and to change your
destination, NOW by: CONFESSING your
sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART,
that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you,
before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and be ASSURED of the HOPE of
Heaven. Do it NOW, while you still
can. He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
