“The Relationship between the
Deceivers and Believers!”
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not
confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh.
This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of
Christ does not have God. He who abides
in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring
this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who
greets him shares in his evil deeds.
2 John 1:9-11
In John’s first letter to the TRUE believers, he spoke to
them concerning false teachers or false prophets. John was concerned that the work of Christ in
the lives of the believers were being threatened by the false doctrines that
were being touted by these deceivers of God’s Word.
In his second letter he strongly refutes their message,
concerning the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, by denying that Christ
came in the flesh. John addressed them
as a ‘deceiver and an antichrist,’ not “the Antichrist,” a false prophet or
false teacher was sometimes classified as an antichrist, but NOT referring to
the ‘end-time’ Antichrist.
John clearly states that one who does NOT abide in the TRUE
doctrine of Christ, which the TRUE BELIEVERS had been taught, does NOT have
God. But those who DO abide in the
doctrine of Christ has BOTH the Father and the Son. Then he gives them instructions on what to do
when they are confronted by a deceiver of the TRUE doctrine of Christ. These instructions may seem a little extreme,
but John was adamant about the security of the TRUE believer’s FAITH. He did
NOT want them to be led astray by a FALSE doctrine. So he told them; “do NOT receive him into
your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.” By greeting them, would be like saying, “I am
glad to see you” or “I wish you well.”
Why would a TRUE believer, who is grounded in the TRUE doctrine want to
wish a FALSE teacher well in spreading a FALSE doctrine?” Therefore, in doing so one would be giving
the impression that they AGREE with the FALSE doctrine.
Today, we are faced with MANY FALSE teachers and doctrines,
which do not FOLLOW the TRUE doctrine of God’s Word, but they alter or add to,
or take away from the TRUE Word of the Living God, and are a HUGE threat to the
TRUE SALVATION of mankind, to deceive and lead astray those who are searching
for the TRUTH. We, who are TRUE
believers need to heed the words of warning from the Apostle John, and let
these FALSE teachers know that we do NOT agree with their false doctrines and
DO NOT GREET or WELCOME them into our homes.
If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to GOD and are
being deceived and led astray, you are in DANGER of spending an eternity in
Hell, the place of torment, torture, pain and misery, for ALL of eternity. But God is giving you the opportunity NOW to
change your destination by coming to God and CONFESSING your sins to Him and
asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died
for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then
ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and become GROUNDED in the TRUTH of God’s Word by
joining a BIBLE-BELIEVING, BIBLE-TEACHING, Church. Do it NOW, while you still can. He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
