“The Discernment of a Once Godly Nation”

 

 

So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us.  We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.  Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like people without eyes.  At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.  We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like doves.  We look for justice, but find none; for deliverance, but it is far away.          Isaiah 59:9-11

 

The Prophet Isaiah, was talking to the nation of Israel, which had become corrupt spiritually, and was without JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS.  They had become like the blind and the dead.  The nation’s sins were MANY and they sought JUSTICE and HELP, but was unable to obtain it.  They became angry and frustrated so they were growling like bears and moaning like doves.  But JUSTICE and DELIVERANCE eluded them.

 

When I read these verses, I couldn’t help but think of our own beloved, once godly, nation.  A nation that once wrapped itself in the cleanliness and purity of godly living, and refrained from worldly, lustful, sinful deeds.  It was a nation that had honored God and His laws.  But we, like the nation of Israel was, have crept away from God and His JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS, and we have allowed our moral standings to be corrupted by; ungodly, lustful, sinful, ways.  We are compelled by our government to accept and embrace the very things that goes against the laws of a JUST and RIGHTEOUS God. And we too, look for light, yet all around us is darkness, and we walk in the deep shadows of a nation that is pulling farther, and farther away from JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS, and is drawing closer to the UNJUST and UNRIGHTEOUS behavior of a LOST and DYING world.  A world that will one day face the judgement of a JUST and RIGHTEOUS Judge, the Lord God Almighty. 

 

All the growling and moaning will NOT bring us the JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS that we desperately NEED.  We MUST come before God and ACKNOWLEDGE or CONFESS our sins to Him and TURN BACK to Him, as a nation, and SEEK His FORGIVENESS.  Turning away from the ungodly, lustful, sinful ways that are destroying our beloved nation.   We NEED a SPIRITUAL AWAKENING across this land.  Please join with me in PRAYING for this SPIRITUAL AWAKENING.

 

2 Chronicles 7:14 says:  “If My people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  This is a PROMISE from God, and I believe that if we ALL would make this our goal, then we would see God’s JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS fall upon our nation.  He is our SALVATION!!

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to Him then you’re part of the cause of the moral decline of our nation.  You are destined for an eternity in a place called Hell, a place of torment, torture, agony and despair.  But the JUST and RIGHTEOUS God is now offering you the opportunity to TURN AWAY from your lustful, sinful ways and TURN TO Him by:  CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and become a part of His family, helping to restore our nation back to a godly nation once again.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
