“Being Obedient to the Point of Death”

 

And being found in appearance as a man He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.        Philippians 2:8

 

Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, and who is God, became the likeness of men, and a Servant of God.  And in His becoming man, He embraced PERFECT HUMANITY.  In other words He was ALL MAN and ALL GOD too. 

 

His mission as a Man was to SEEK and to SAVE the LOST and to bring them to SALVATION.  Even though it meant that He would HUMBLE Himself and become the PERFECT SACRIFICE, in order to bring mankind to a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God.   Jesus was OBEDIENT to the POINT of DEATH, and NOT just DEATH, but the DEATH of the CROSS.  This was a very CRUEL and DESPICABLE form of Death.  It was limited to those who were non-Roman, and the WORST CRIMINALS.

 

The question for the TRUE BELIEVER is; “are you OBEDIENT to God, even to the POINT of DEATH?”   There is no better example of OBEDIENCE to God, than the OBEDIENCE of Christ carrying out His mission, even to the CRUEL, DESPICABLE, HORRENDOUS DEATH of the CROSS.

 

It is a lesson in HUMILITY for ALL TRUE BELIEVERS, the HUMBLING of ONESELF to being OBEDIENT to the Almighty God and His plans for our mission, which is to be LIKE-MINDED with Jesus, and to be WILLING to FOLLOW His EXAMPLE in bringing SALVATION to a LOST and DYING WORLD.  Are you WILLING?  

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God then you are DISOBEDIENT and headed for an ETERNITY in Hell, with ALL of its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  If you want to change your destination, you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and BE OBEDIENT to God and His plan for you.  And change your destination to Heaven.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
