“The Seal of Ownership”

 

Now, it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ.  He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.              2 Corinthians 1:21-22

 

This is a message for the Church in Corinth, written by the Apostle Paul, telling the people that it is the work of the Almighty God who makes ALL of His Children STAND FIRM in Christ.  He does this by ANOINTING the TRUE BELIEVER at the time of conversion.  He then, sets His SEAL of OWNERSHIP on us, which is His HOLY SPIRIT, and confirms that the TRUE BELIEVER is identified with Christ and they are God’s property and they are protected by Him.

 

The next thing is the CONFIRMATION from the Holy Spirit of the Living God, that whatever God has begun, He will complete it.  The present REDEMPTIVE STATE of the TRUE BELIEVER, is only a mere sample of what is coming.  The presence of His Spirit, in their HEART, is like a deposit that GUARANTEES what is to come. 

 

For the TRUE BELIEVER, it will be experiencing ALL the GLORIES of Heaven for ALL of ETERNITY.  What a BLESSING to be looking forward too.  But for the UNBELIEVER, those who have NOT given their HEART and LIFE to God, they do NOT have His SEAL of OWNERSHIP, identifying them with Christ because they do NOT belong to Him.  They are headed for an ETERNITY in Hell, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  If you are an UNBELIEVER, this is what is coming for you.  However, God has provided a way of ESCAPE for you NOW, if you will TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and receive His SEAL of OWNERSHIP.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s
