Be Saved From This Corrupt Generation

 

 

“Repent,” Peter said to them, “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”  And with many others he testified and strongly urged them, saying, “Be saved from this corrupt generation!”--------Acts 2: 38-40

 

 

Our world seems to be evolving and changing at break-neck speed, sadly to say it’s not a change for the BEST, but it is beginning to crack and crumble, MORALLY, SPIRITUALLY, ECONOMICALLY, and in so MANY other ways. 

 

We are living in a time where what has once been GOOD is NOW considered BAD and what was once BAD is NOW considered GOOD.  A time where Christianity is being attacked and demeaned by those in high places of our government, A time where the criminal is protected and the victim gets NO justice, A time where BLATANT SIN is flaunted in our faces and we are asked to TOLERATE what the ALMIGHTY GOD tells to SHUN to SEPARATE ourselves from.  We are living in a CORRUPT and DEVIANT generation. 

 

In the Apostle Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost, Peter tells the people that they MUST, “Repent,” “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  REPENT is to be sorry for your sins and to turn AWAY from them, NOT to embrace them or even TOLERATE them, but to put them out of your MIND and HEART.  To go in the OPPOSITE direction.  And then you RECEIVE the gift of the Holy Spirit, who is our COUNSELOR, GUIDE, AND CONSTANT COMPANION, taking us through our SALVATION EXPERIENCE into a HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, LIFE.  BAPTISM is a picture of DYING to our sins and being brought into a NEWNESS of a RIGHTEOUS LIFE.

 

The world in which we live would have us believe that it is NORMAL or OK to SIN or to TOLERATE SIN because of the day in which we live.  But it FAILS to tell you that there is a price to pay for our transgressions.  The Bible tells us that ‘the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ (Romans 6:23)  The Bible teaches us that we are NOT to embrace sin, but we should flee from it. 

 

If you are EMBRACING sin, LIVING in sin, or TOLERATING sin, it’s time that you TURN AWAY from it and EMBRACE God’s FREE gift of SALVATION and be set FREE from this CORRUPT, DEVIANT generation and its entanglements that will send you STRAIGHT to Hell.  You can be set FREE by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and receive His gift of the Holy Spirit and be set free from the sins that so easily besets you.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
