“The One Who Examines”

 

 

For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.  Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until  the Lord comes who  will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.--------1Corinthians 4:4-5

 

 

The Apostle Paul is giving instruction as to whom, is qualified to actually judge the HEART and INTENTIONS of mankind.  He states that he knows of NOTHING against himself, but just because he believes that he has done NOTHING wrong, doesn’t acquit him; because his examiner is the Lord, not even he, himself can qualify to examine his own HEART and INTENTIONS. 

 

So then we are not to PASS judgment, but should wait until the Lord comes back when mankind will be judged by Him, either for their sins, if they are unbelievers, or for their works if they are believers.

 

At this time, those things that are hidden in the darkness will be brought to light and He will disclose the motives of mankind’s HEART and then each one will receive their just reward (for the believer) or condemnation ( for the unbeliever). 

 

Everything will be brought into the open and all things will be judged for how they were carried out by the content of the HEART.  If the INTENTIONS of the HEART were pure and just they will receive the PRAISE of Almighty God.  However if they were less than pure and done by sinful INTENTIONS they will come under the condemnation of the Almighty. 

 

In other words, as a believer, why do you do the things you do?  If it’s for your own vain glory, there will be NO praise from the Lord.  As an unbeliever, you will receive NO praise for the things you do, because of your SIN NATURE, and you cannot do anything with PURE and JUST INTENTIONS.

Which category do you fall into:  The believer or the unbeliever?  If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, you are one who will NOT receive PRAISE but will receive CONDEMNATION from Almighty God.  You have the opportunity NOW to change your status by: CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and become a believer, who will stand before the throne of God and receive PRAISE and NOT CONDEMNATION, and be sentenced NOT GUILTY.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
