Living Sinful or Living Righteous

 

 

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 

Be very careful, then, how you live---not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.--------Ephesians 5:11,15-17

 

 

In today’s time, it seems to me that there are many who PROFESS to POSSESS God’s gift of SALVATION, yet they seem to want to cling to their old ways.  So then do they really POSSESS what they PROFESS? 

 

The Apostle Paul says to the believers at Ephesus, that they SHOULD “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness,” in other words; LET GO!  of their old sinful, fruitless deeds and instead of PARTICIPATING in them, they SHOULD EXPOSE them.  BE A WITNESS not a WEAKLING.  He went on to say, that it is shameful to even mention what the disobedient do in secret, much less to PARTICIPATE in their EVIL, SINFUL, FRUITLESS deeds.

 

When a person comes to Christ for SALVATION, the Bible tells us that they become a new creature, and that ALL of the OLD things are gone and ALL the things in their life then becomes BRAND-NEW. 

 

The Apostle Paul goes on to say that the believer is to ‘Be very careful’ how the live, they SHOULD  live as a WISE person, not as an UNWISE person, making the MOST of EVERY opportunity to live a RIGHTEOUS life and NOT try to MIX their OLD, worldly, sinful, fruitless, life with their NEW, RIGHTEOUS, SANCTIFIED life.  We are to be a WITNESS of our NEW and IMPROVED life to those who are STILL living in their sinful lives.  WE need to take EVERY opportunity we can to do this, because time is SHORT and we need to PROFESS what we POSSESS so they too can POSSESS the NEW, RIGHTEOUS, SANCTIFIED life. 

 

When we PROFESS what we REALLY POSSESS, we are NOT being foolish, but we are wise with understanding what the Lord’s will is.

 

 If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, you NOW have that opportunity to do so.  Or if you aren’t sure that you REALLY POSSESS what you have been PROFESSING, because of your desire to try and mix your OLD life with the NEW life, which is IMPOSSIBLE.  You can change from a SINFUL life-style to a RIGHTEOUS life-style by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and PROFESS what you REALLY POSSESS for the glory of God.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
