“A New Covenant”

 

 

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord:  I will put My laws into their minds and write them on their hearts.  I will be their God, and they will be My people.  For I will be merciful to their wrongdoing, and I will never again remember their sins.--------Hebrews 8:10,12

 

 

These verses of Scripture is specifically focused on Israel, but it is pretty clear that ALL the benefits of this NEW COVENANT belong to the TRUE believer as well. (1Corinthians 11:25)  And Christians of this present time come under its blessings also.

 

The New Covenant, the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, has become the vehicle of SALVATION for the believer as well.  And some of the benefits are:  (1) Obedience--- and inner sense to obey God’s laws.  (2) Relationship----A steadfast relationship with God, He will be our God and we will be His people.  (3) Knowledge----the knowledge of God, we will ALL know Him.  (4) Forgiveness---the forgiveness of our sins.  These are benefits that are afforded to each TRUE believer, because of the PLAN OF SALVATION, the NEW COVENANT, that is for ALL PEOPLE.

 

The best benefit of the NEW COVENANT is the REDEMPTION of mankind, through the SACRIFICE of our Lord Jesus Christ, the shedding of His precious blood seals the deal.  We then become the REDEEMED, the BLOOD-BOUGHT, TRUE CHILD of the Living God. 

 

Verse 12, thrills my HEART, I think this verse really EXEMPLIFIES God’s WONDEROUS MERCY and GRACE, both of which is UNDESERVED on our part.  Nevertheless, because of God’s GREAT LOVE for the Crown of His Creation, mankind, we are the recipients of His NEW COVENANT which brings us FOREVER FORGIVENESS.  “For I will be MERCIFUL to their wrongdoing, and I will NEVER again remember their sins.”  

 

However, you MUST be SINCERE in your HEART about your SALVATION.  It cannot be a ticket for you to continue in your sinful lifestyle.  When you truly come to Christ for the redemption of your soul, it HAS GOT TO BE from your HEART, and NOT just a MIND thing.  When it is REAL, you will not WANT to sin but will TURN AWAY from the sin.  We all sin against God at some point and time, but when we do the Holy Spirit that indwells us brings us under conviction and we, as a TRUE CHILD of the Living God, CONFESSES those sins to Him, and His PROMISE to us is that He will NEVER again REMEMBER those sins.

 

If you have not asked God to FORGIVE you of your sins and to allow His Holy Spirit to come into your HEART, then you are on the road to HELL, a place that is a finality of your life.  You will be there FOREVER in torment and misery, the likes of which, have NEVER been known.  But you have the opportunity NOW to ACCEPT His NEW COVENANT and be a recipient of its benefits, by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and become a TRUE CHILD of the Living God.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting and coming a SOON!!!
