"The Overcomer!"

“The Overcomer!”

 

 

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” --------John 16:33

 

 

These are encouraging words from Jesus to His disciples, because He was about to leave them and go back to His Father.  He wanted to prepare them for what they would experience, once He was gone.  He wanted them to KNOW that they would NOT be left ALONE, because Father God would send them a Helper, Counselor, Guide, and Constant Companion, the Holy Spirit.

 

They would experience persecution and even death, because of their FAITH in Him and the fact that they were a part of Him, each one of them, His follower.  But if they remembered all that He had told them, they could experience PEACE through their relationship with Him even though they were yet in this world, which would only bring them trouble, they could still experience His PEACE.

 

Jesus told them to, “take heart!” or to, “be courageous!”  Because He has OVERCOME the world.  He has the VICTORY over SIN and DEATH.  And they too can be OVERCOMERS, through their relationship with Him and His Father.

 

This message is a GOOD one for ALL of God’s Children, the TRUE believers, those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  We, today, as Christians, are finding that this old, wretched, sin-laden world is against God’s Children and persecution even to the point of death is happening, because of our relationship with Jesus Christ and His Father. 

But we too can “take heart!” and become OVERCOMERS by being COURAGEOUS and STRONG in our FAITH, realizing that this old, wretched, troubled, sin-laden world is NOT all there is.  There is a DAY OF RECKONING coming, and as God’s Children we can stand as OVERCOMERS of this world, VICTORIOUS over SIN and DEATH.

 

Are you ready for the DAY OF RECKONING?  Or are you going to be able to stand as an OVERCOMER, courageous and strong in your faith?  If you are NOT ready for the DAY OF RECKONING or you aren’t sure, then you can, like the disciples, experience the PEACE of Jesus in your heart, and KNOW that you are an OVERCOMER because you have given your HEART and LIFE to God, and you do that by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE, in Heaven making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and KNOW that you too have OVERCOME the world.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
