“What Was Once Valuable Is Now Worthless!”

 

 

But Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless.  Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.  I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage.  All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to Him.  I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses.  God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ.--------Philippians 3:7-10

 

 

We all possess things that we consider to be VALUABLE, some things we might consider to be more VALUABLE than others.  Some people go to extreme measures to PROTECT and KEEP those items that will someday erode, rust, rot, and fall apart or decay, and will definitely lose its VALUE.  And you certainly can’t take it with you when you leave this earth, which means that you will leave it with someone else who might not see the VALUE in that item that you did, and more than likely they will sell it or give it away. 

 

When we come to Christ for our salvation, He, through the power and work of His Holy Spirit, opens our eyes to see that what we once thought was VALUABLE is really WORTHLESS. There is NOTHING as wonderful as KNOWING Christ Jesus.  What I mean by KNOWING Christ Jesus is having a close intimate relationship with Him.  Allowing His Holy Spirit FREE REIGN in our HEART and Life.  When we do that then we put Him FIRST on our list of priorities, where He belongs, and ALL other things seem insignificant in comparison to our relationship with Him.

 

There is NO way we can make ourselves ACCEPTABLE to God, except THROUGH Jesus Christ, He is the DOOR, the TRUTH, the WAY and the LIFE, and we can’t come into God’s presence EXCEPT through Him.  God ACCEPTS us because of our FAITH in Christ Jesus.  And through our FAITH we gain SALVATION, which enables us to have the HOPE of Heaven, which will not erode rust, rot, fall apart or decay.  SALVATION is so much more VALUABLE than ANYTHING you have, or will have in this lifetime.

 

If you are hanging onto earthly things and putting all your devotion, time, money and efforts into the upkeep and well-being of that which you deem VALUABLE, you might be neglecting the MOST VALUABLE thing of ALL, the SALVATION of your soul. 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are going to miss out on the MOST VALUABLE thing you will EVER possess, your SALVATION and the HOPE of Heaven.  However you can change that by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and have that MOST VALUABLE possession you will EVER have, a close INTIMATE relationship with Christ Jesus.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
