"Either You Do or You Don't!"

“Either You Do or You Don’t!”

 

 

And this is the testimony:  God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  The one who has the Son has life.  The one who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life.  I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.--------1 John 5:11-13

 

 

Jesus, once told his apostle Thomas, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6), and I believe that this is exactly what John is telling us in these verses of Scripture.  The fact is we have been given ETERNAL LIFE, by God, but it comes ONLY through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

There’s a children’s song that says, ‘you can’t get to Heaven on a roller-skate,’ NO you can’t ‘SKATE’ your way into Heaven, and you can’t BUY your way into Heaven, nor can you WORK your way into Heaven.  I have, many times, seen people, who you know, by the fruit they bear, are NOT a part of God’s family, give large sums of money to the church or other religious organizations, with the mindset that the money would secure them a place in Heaven.  And I have heard people comment about others as being such a ‘GOOD’ person that if anyone was in Heaven that person was, because of ALL the GOOD WORKS they had done.  Well God’s Word says:  “The one who has the Son has life.  The one who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life.”  So that tells us that NO amount of money nor ALL the GOOD works can provide for mankind ETERNAL LIFE.  Eternal life comes to us ONLY ONE WAY, and that WAY is through God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

John goes on to say that he has written these things to those who BELIEVE in the name of the SON of GOD, those who have TRUSTED in Him for their ETERNAL LIFE that they might KNOW, they have ETERNAL LIFE.  In other words, we can have the ASSURANCE of ETERNAL LIFE, because we have come to Him by FAITH in His BLESSED SON.

 

Have you come to God through His Son, Jesus Christ?  Or are you one who thinks you can buy or work your way to Him?  If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to Him, then you do not possess LIFE. You will have eternal life, but NOT in Heaven, your eternal life will be spent in Hell, in torment, torture, heartache, misery, void from ANYTHING that is GOOD, for ALL eternity. However, you have the opportunity NOW to change your destiny by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and possess LIFE ETERNAL in Heaven, through His Son Jesus Christ.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting, and coming soon!!!
