"Be Careful!"

“Be Careful!”

 

Dear friends, since you already know about this, be careful.  Do not let those evil people lead you away by the wrong they do.  Be careful so you will not fall from your strong faith.   But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Glory be to Him now and forever! Amen.        2 Peter 3:17-18

 

 The Apostle Peter warns his readers to be ON GUARD, with the assumption that they already KNOW this; to NOT let those evil people lead you away by the wrong they do.  He was talking about the being led away by the error of the LAWLESS people.  He WARNED them to BE CAREFUL!  So that they won’t fall from their STRONG FAITH.   NOT that they would lose their SALVATION, but that their STRONG FAITH would NOT be WEAKENED.

 

Peter, not only issued a WARNING, but he gave them and us a word of ENCOURAGEMENT.  He is ENCOURAGING us to GROW in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ. 

 

To GROW in GRACE, we are to GROW in the UNMERITED FAVOR of a LOVING, COMPASSIONATE, GOD.  We can only accomplish that by GROWING in the KNOWLEDGE of our LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, who has provided ETERNAL LIFE to all mankind, with the shedding of His precious blood, on an OLD RUGGED CROSS. In order to do this you MUST READ and STUDY the WORD of GOD.   Are you GROWING in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord?  Or are you FOLLOWING the EVIL, LAWLESS PEOPLE and having your STRONG FAITH weakened?  

 

If you are NOT GROWING in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, then you NEED to BE CAREFUL of becoming WEAK and USELESS in your FAITH.   And if you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are ONE OF THE EVIL, LAWLESS PEOPLE, who are at the devil’s bidding, and you are facing an ETERNITY in HELL, the place of UNENDING, torment, torture, pain, heartache, agony and despair, with NO WAY OF ESCAPE.   In order to be able to ESCAPE HELL, you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  Then you MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then you MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and GAIN HEAVEN, with ALL of ITS GLORIES.  You NEED to DO this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
